12. The Difference between Being ‘Covered’ and Remaining ‘Naked’
“The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.” (Genesis 3:21)
Disciples must be trained to be ‘covered’ at all times in the Biblical sense. So let’s see how God first presented this idea. Nakedness and its covering are first mentioned in Genesis 3. We’ve already seen that God is perfect in every way. So His Creation is complete and all-sufficient. And His Word is perfect. He contains God’s fullness in Himself and He is the ultimate creative Source of whatever is real, true and good. The entire universe is the perfect work of His perfect hands. And He is God’s perfect Blessing that was imparted to mankind in the very beginning. And we saw that even after the first humans fell into Sin and were severely damaged in their nature, that God sent His Word after them to restore the perfect Blessing to them and begin setting things right.
Now that they were in Sin, their immediate need was to have their spiritual nakedness covered. In the Hebrew culture from which this revelation emerges, the word, ‘naked’ is used to describe their spiritual state of separation from God. They rejected and bypassed the authority of His Word, cutting themselves off from their Life Source. Now they were spiritually dead and doomed to physical death as well. This was the result of their rebellion and disobedience to God’s Word. They were no longer the Word’s image and likeness, and so now that Sin deprived them of their true humanity and its God-given identity, purpose and destiny…they were ‘naked.’
Another term we use in our meditations for that state is, ‘decapitated’, or, ‘beheaded.’ We use that term because Sin cut them off from their true life-source, their Head, the living Word of God. Scripture reveals that (whether humans want to admit it or not) God’s Word is our true Head – the ultimate Source of whatever any of us can be, have, and do. This helps us see why the fig leaves Adam and Eve used to cover themselves were unacceptable to God. That covering was the independent idea and device of the decapitated humans. It did not come to them from God’s Word. They were acting as rogue, independent agents, demonstrating their ‘Head-less,’ ‘spiritually naked’ state. That is the essence of Sin. Our Creator is our Source for everything; but when we operate apart from Him, we ignore and disobey God and fail to give His Word the honor, gratitude and credit He justly deserves. Head-less humans act as if they are creating themselves, that their lives are their personal property and they can do with them whatever they think is best. But that usurps the Authority and Preeminence of God’s Word and fails to acknowledge Him as their true and only Source. He provides everything for them, but they ignore that fact and take the credit for themselves. Thus they work with God’s gifts for selfish ends and purposes of their own devising…as if God did not even exist!
Regardless of what we try to do in that Head-less state, our motives, acts and results are Sin-corrupted and are therefore an abomination to God. Head-less thinking and living are based on a huge lie. Instead of acknowledging our Word-of-God Life, we twist erase Truth and put our self-life counterfeit substitute in its place. Scripture calls that attitude and behavior, ‘Flesh.’ Flesh falls far short of the image and likeness of God-life that we were created for. So when we act independently of God’s living Word, we are misdirecting the energy flow and polarity that God’s Word gives us to work with. Our independent behavior causes that energy to split, scatter and break away from God’s polarity and thus our energy flow opposes that of our Head. We work at cross-purposes to God, competing against the absolute Authority and Preeminence of His Word.
The Enemy and his plan
The Serpent caused this devastating situation. His anti-God agenda created the initial opposing, contradictory energy polarity. And now he continues to do it through the angels and humans he has managed to delude and bring into his Dark, Anti-Word realm. The Serpent has several other names, some of which are, ‘Satan’ or ‘The Adversary’ or, ‘the spirit of the Anti-Christ’ (1 John 4:3). A dictionary definition of the word ‘anti’ describes an adversarial conflict between two sources or forces. The ‘anti’ or, opposing force is defined as being: ‘of the same kind (as the original), but exerting a pull in an opposite direction.’
God and the spirit of Anti-Christ are of the same kind – that is – pure spirits. But the anti-Christ (anti-Word) spirit vies against God’s Word and pulls in opposing directions trying to commandeer and usurp the absolute Authority and Supremacy of God. Creation is caught in the middle of the conflict between these two spiritual energy flows. It is a war between the Word of God and the rebellion of the Serpent and his forces. God’s energy pulls in a perfectly self-less love direction. He builds, protects and unites out of His Love for His beloved Creation. But the Serpent’s energy does the opposite. It is violent Law-less, malevolent selfishness that is incredibly divisive and destructive. It pursues radically individualistic purposes and operates at the expense of everything else in Creation. At times Satan’s energy appears as a violent, destructive terroristic force, such as a bloody war or a nuclear bomb blast. At other times it assumes the guise of something beautiful, alluring and desirable, as when it encouraged Eve to view the forbidden fruit in a purely positive light (Gen. 3) and encouraged and tempted Joseph to sin against God by committing adultery with Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39).
Regardless of how Satan’s disobedience trap appears, if we allow it to lure and captivate us, it arouses and inflames our natural fears, passions and desires until they overpower and captivate us. Then, through them, the Serpent drags us away from the polarity flow of God’s Righteousness, Truth, Reality and Wisdom. He gets us to divert our energy flow and join it to his. Thus we become part of his opposition to God’s will and deprives us of The Blessing that God’s Word was sent to be to us. So whatever we do independently of our Source and Lord causes us to be ‘naked’ and ‘Head-less.’
God’s ‘Mirrors’
To help us grasp the significance of this, it helps to realize that human souls are similar to mirrors. Whatever our minds focus on habitually fills us and we reflect that back out to whatever is around us. But we were designed and made to be the mirrors of God’s living Word! God made us so that we could focus on and fill ourselves with His Word and reflect what He is and does and says, in our lives – with precision, accuracy and faithfulness. True mirrors reflect back only what they receive. But crazy, distorted, deceptive ‘fun house’ mirrors send back false, distorted images that differ greatly from the reality of the source. Distortion mirrors deceive and misrepresent what is given to them. And that’s what the Serpent gets humans to be – false distortion mirrors that are far removed from God’s Reality. Sin has damaged our nature and warped, twisted and distorted our souls, thereby preventing us from being the image and likeness of God. We are no longer pre-conditioned and equipped to focus on God’s Word just as He is. Instead we’re preconditioned to focus on passing worldly, created things and look to them as sources of well being, safety and fulfillment. The Serpent has downloaded a ‘deadly virus’ into our inner workings that continually draws us away from God. Now it’s natural and normal for us to fill our soul mirrors with mostly ungodly, worldly input. We are used to living as Satan lives and so we have become his image and likeness, instead of God’s. And as long as we ignore, reject and bypass God’s Word, we will continue to take it upon ourselves to see, think and act as we think best, just as if we were God. In that state, we cannot reflect what God gives us, but what we receive from other fallen created things of this world.
So disciples must be trained to fill themselves with God’s Life-giving Word and serve as His living revelation. They are a royal priesthood that is commissioned to minister to God and give testimony to His Word’s Perfection, Truth, Reality, All-Sufficient Grace and eternal Glory. God’s Word is to be like our ‘power cord’ that connects us to God and brings the Light of His Presence and Truth into our hearts, lives, relationships and circumstances.
Sin corrupted Adam and Eve and forced them to turn over to Satan the dominion over earthly creation that God had entrusted to them! So the earth’s God-given energy began to split, scatter and separate from the energy of God’s Word. The Serpent’s energy flow caught and swept all of it away from God’s purposes. And that is why our earthly portion of Creation is so broken and fallen and damaged. But God sent His Word after us to restore us while we live in a world that operates in radically independent ways and is filled with decapitated humans that assume they are free to think and do as they please.
Such behavior is actually sub-human. It falls far short of the image and likeness of God level of humanity. Even when independent people have good intentions and act piously, they are still operating in that disconnected, Head-less state. And God rejects whatever they do. He is the Spirit of Truth and will never make peace with lies. He forbids us from twisting Truth and bearing false witness. To be His image and likeness, we must remain connected to His Word and reflect Him alone, as He really is:
“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” (Exodus 20:2-6)
We are meant to blend and merge our energy with God’s energy as we abide in total union and agreement with what His Word, our Creator, is sent to be and do throughout all of Creation. When we believe and obey the Word, our minds become like His ‘mirrors’ and we become His healthy, well-functioning Body, continually drawing from and reflecting and embodying our Head. But when our energy scatters and splits away from our Master’s energy, we do exactly as the Serpent and his minions do. That is why in His Perfect Righteousness, Wisdom, Truth and Justice, God rejects our self-life initiatives and whatever they produce, no matter how ‘spiritual’ or ‘religious’ they may appear. How can God be at peace with dead, disconnected, deformed monstrosities that are offered by people who refuse to have anything to do with His Word and are intent on distorting or erasing Him completely?
Spiritual nakedness was obviously not something Adam and Eve could remedy for themselves, apart from God. ‘Mirrors’ never originate; they only reflect what comes to them from their source. So when they tried to ‘cover’ themselves, they continued to ignore God and bypass His Word. That only emphasized the fact that they were ‘decapitated’ and ‘naked.’ Apart from God, there was nothing they could do to ‘cover’ themselves. God’s Word is our only true, legitimate covering. In truth, He is our Source for everything. Without Him, we are all ‘naked.’
When we receive and reflect back what God’s Word gives, we begin to abide in God’s Spirit and Truth and become aligned with God’s nature and our own. Our Master once related a parable that concerns this:
“Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.’
“Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests. But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:8-14)
In the context of the ancient Mid Eastern Hebrew world, it was common practice for a wealthy wedding host to station slaves at the door of his home. The slaves would give each wedding guest a complimentary wedding garment as they arrived. So this guest in the parable had no excuse. Evidently he refused the garment that was offered to him and chose to remain ‘naked.’ And that is what people do when they reject and contradict God’s Word. Their rejection of Him twists and distorts their God-given human nature beyond recognition. It violates the laws of Creation when humans take matters into their own hands and try to ‘be as God.’ God is never pleased or impressed by that. He will never accept anything that oozes out of such a dead, God-less source.
“Do not think that I (the living Word of God) came to abolish the Law or the Prophets (the written Word of God); I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the (religious but decapitated) scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew. 5:17-20 Emphasis added.)
The polarity flow of God’s grace-energy comes to us 100% from His Word. God’s Word flows out from Him and moves ‘earthward’ or ‘manward.’ For our part, we originate 0% of that activity. God alone is our Source. So we must receive what He gives us, and go along with the energy flow of His Word and draw everything we need from what the Word gives. We must admit that in ourselves we are bankrupt and 100% needy. So even if we only assume we can be 1% or 2% independent of God, we’re still thinking and living as ‘decapitated’ independent agents.
“Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I am teaching you to perform, so that you may live and go in and take possession of the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you. You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Your eyes have seen what the LORD has done in the case of Baal-peor, for all the men who followed Baal-peor, the LORD your God has destroyed them from among you. But you who held fast to the LORD your God are alive today, every one of you.” (Deuteronomy 4:1-4 Emphasis added.)
“Be careful to listen to all these words which I command you, so that it may be well with you and your sons after you forever, for you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.” (Deuteronomy 12:28 Emphasis added.)
“This is My beloved Son (living Word) with whom I am well pleased, listen to (obey) Him!” (Matthew 17:5 Emphasis added.)
When ‘Head-lessness’ Becomes ‘Normal’
The fallen world is used to viewing everything through natural, radically independent, humanistic ‘mental filters.’ It assumes that life without the Word of God is right, good and ‘normal.’ Worldly people assume they are perfectly ‘okay’ and can achieve full human righteousness and can fulfill their unlimited potential to achieve wonderful fulfilling futures for themselves. And even many of those that claim to know and serve God and obey His Law, still think and act as if everything is up to them and how well they can perform. Those self-life filters keep blocking God out of their mental picture, although He is the Source for everything they are and have and are able to do.
But as God’s Holy Spirit makes us aware of those blinding, distorting filters and we see what they do to us, the truth begins to set us free. And we have a chance to begin to know our God in all of His Perfection. We become aware of His Wisdom, Truth and Reality as expressed through His Word. Then we see that His Perfect standards must be honored and fulfilled perfectly…and that apart from our Head, we can’t do or be anything!
“So Jesus was saying to those Jews, who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’ They answered Him, ‘We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?’
“Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who (habitually) commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed!’” (John 8:31-36 Emphasis and amplification added.)
The ‘Head-less’ self-centered interpretation of Scripture is a total lie. What can a body or a member of that body, ever do apart from its Head? How can branches bear fruit, much less live, if they are severed from their vine? Even though that state seems normal to people accustomed to being Headless, such living is based on a horrid lie! That is not ‘life’. It is living death! And so the Bible is the revelation of God’s living Word made flesh and His ways. It points us to the living Word Himself…as our Head and Source for everything. Never was the Bible meant to be a handbook for improving man’s self-centered, radically independent performance!
Beloved, living without God’s Word is what the fallen, Serpent-dominated world system considers to be ‘wisdom!’ But that is nothing more than the religion of humanism that tries to elevate man to God’s level. Only the real God and His Perfect Word can ‘hit’ God’s Perfect Target. And we must learn to allow Him to do it in us, for us, and through us!
“So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:12-13)
Mirrors of God only meet God’s perfect standards as long as they remain filled with and reflect back, the Perfection of God’s Word. Apart from Him, we’re nothing more than helpless dust! But what is impossible for us is possible when we learn to receive and enjoy everything that comes to us from our God.
“‘Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.’ When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, ‘Then who can be saved?’ And looking at them Jesus said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:24-26)
If we believe God’s revelation and promises, and submit to His Word’s Authority, and allow Him to do whatever He sends His Word to do to us, in us and through us – HE ACTUALLY DOES IT! The Life in the Word of God empowers us to share in the fruit of His Perfect Finished Work as long as He is free to abide and live in us as our Original Blessing. The perfect eternal Blood Covenant which God made with Himself before Creation took place provides for us and enables the Word and Spirit of God to transmit its Fruit into our lives and circumstances. The Covenant is between the Speaker and His Word made flesh, between the Father and His Son. The perfect obedience this Covenant requires cannot come from us; it must come from the perfect living Word who serves as our perfect Representative in that Covenant. The work has already been DONE…perfectly. It was credited to us since before Creation took place! And God bestowed it upon us through that Original Blessing that He ‘breathed’ into Adam, Eve and all their descendants. And He protected and perpetuated that Original Blessing through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Israel and the apostles of His Word made flesh. Now He wants to apply all of that to us…through His Word and Holy Spirit. That’s why we must be connected to Him and receive everything from Him.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved (His living Word).” (Ephesians 1:3-6 Emphasis added.)
Even Yeshua, the eternal, living Word of God made flesh had to live the way God requires us to live. He became flesh and walked the earth as our Covenant Representative. He was entirely human, sharing all of our weaknesses, limitations and temptations. He too had to depend on God’s Eternal Word and the Fruit of His finished work that was done in that eternal Covenant. Yeshua was 100% needy and dependent on what God had already done, just like us! He never saw or thought or acted as God throughout His human life on Earth, He acted as ‘The Son of Man,’ personally experiencing every human weakness except for Sin. God knew we could never meet His perfect standards in our ‘decapitated’ state so He sent His living Word to live in our name and reconnect us with Himself. Now, as the risen Lord of Glory, He is our Covering, doing to us, in us and through us, what we could never do for ourselves. He lived from the Fullness of God’s Holy Spirit then, and now, as the risen Lord, He imparts that same Holy Spirit to us. Now He includes us in the benefits of His perfect performance which God has already accepted and approved. The eternal Word of God has done everything perfectly in our name, all to His Father’s eternal honor, glory and complete satisfaction.
Regardless of the form in which the Father may choose to reveal His living Word, the Word is always the same, yesterday, today and forever. He is always the perfect image and likeness of the Father and He does only what His Father sends Him to do, no more, no less. His obedience is perfect. And now, in Yeshua, it is ours.
“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. (John 5:19)
“I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 5:30)
That is why Death had no legal claim on Yeshua; the wages of Sin could not hold Him because His Humanity is Sin-less and Perfect! Death is only for Sin-corrupted people. So Death had to release God’s Sin-less Son when His Father summoned Him to come out of the tomb. And so any claim, command or requirement God puts on our fallen humanity is actually a claim, command and requirement He places on His living Word and Holy Spirit. The only way for us to be as perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect, is to abide in and feed upon His perfect living Word. And when His perfect Word becomes our perfect Life and spiritual Food, He transforms us into His image and likeness and applies to us the benefits of what He has already done in our name. He is our Head; we are His members. The Head sends the benefits of His finished work to and through His living connected members. The result of that is that our Father is glorified and we, the members of His Word, profit greatly.
“Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21 Emphasis added.)
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5)
“Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “IT IS FINISHED!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” (John 19:30)
Enter Cain and Abel
Now that we know what it is to be ‘decapitated’ and how we must be reattached to our Head, we can understand why our ‘Head-less’ energy scatters and operates in opposition to the energy of God’s Word. We can also see what the issues are between God and the fallen human race and the demon-possessed world system. Now we can see that God’s Plan is enormous. It includes much more than just us and our little self-centered empires and concerns. It includes every thing God created or ever will create. So with that understanding, let’s consider what God reveals through the lives of Adam and Eve’s first two sons – Cain and Abel:
“So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground. Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Then the LORD said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.’” (Genesis 4:3-7)
Let’s assume that Adam and Eve understood what God was revealing through the animal skins and the covering He provided for them through the Sin-less lives of the animals that had to be sacrificed to provide the covering He gave them. What was God revealing about His living Word through this image of an innocent, perfectly Sin-less substitute sacrifice? Remember that the Perfect Word is the Perfect Original Blessing God gave to the human race. He contains within Himself, everything any of us will ever need to fulfill our God-given purpose and destiny. God is revealing here that whatever humanity lost by its disobedience and fall, the full remedy and restoration of it is already contained in God’s Word – the Head of the human race. Our Head IS the complete remedy and full restoration that His Body needs. Our Head is our Creator and Maintainer and Protector and Redeemer and Provider. He must therefore also be the Source of any forgiveness, atonement, redemption and cleansing salvation we will ever receive from God. There can be no other source. That’s why anything we try to do for ourselves apart from God’s Word is never true, valid or acceptable in God’s eyes.
Apparently, Adam and Eve understood this and passed it on to Cain and Abel. Abel heard, believed and acted upon what God’s Word revealed and taught them. In that sense, he allowed his Head to become His Life and Truth-supply as well as His Redemption from Sin and its effects. So this tells us that anything we offer to God as an attempt to re-establish fellowship and be restored to His favor and good graces must first come to us from God, through His Word. That’s why His Word must be our Head. We must receive and embody what He is, through our lives. Anything we offer to God must be what God first gave us through His Word. We can do nothing that is true or legitimate apart from our Head. We can do nothing that God will accept when we’re living in a state of radical independence from His Word. If we are separated from our Head, we cannot escape God’s righteous judgment and condemnation. If it doesn’t come to us from God’s Word first, it is coming to us from the Serpent. And if we try to offer that to God, in that naked state, how could God not reject it?
The standards of our Perfect God will always be perfect. Therefore only His Perfect Word made flesh can meet and fulfill God’s Perfect standards perfectly. And the Word must transmit His Perfection into us. Only then can we serve as God’s perfect image and likeness. The Word is our ‘covering.’ He ‘clothes’ us in His Perfection so we can appear before God in total safety and compatibility and enjoy His full acceptance, approval and eternal inheritance. God covers and provides everything. Nothing acceptable can ever originate in Sin-corrupted people. It can only come by and through God’s Word. The perfection of God’s Word is the Rock upon which all true human life must be based.
We may appear to belabor this point. But look around you. How many people do you see living Headlessly today? Are they not doing exactly what Cain did? Are they not refusing to believe and agree with and obey God’s Word? Cain came up with what he assumed would be as good or better than the Perfect, sacrificed Life of the Lamb that God’s Word had to become for us. But The Lamb that God gave us in His Word is the only acceptable atonement gift we can offer back to Him. Nevertheless, most of the world is blinded and driven by the Serpent just as Cain was. He took matters into his own hands and tried to control the situation. He offered something he thought would impress and please God – the very best he could produce by his own efforts. But that gift originated in his dead, ‘decapitated’ fallen flesh. And thus the first recorded dead religious act of fallen flesh, took place in Genesis 4. And God rejected it because it came out of a dead source.
“The LORD God commanded the man, saying, ‘From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die!’” (Genesis 2:16-17)
The Darkness of Sin that was operating in Cain dared to try to make peace with eternal Light. Death tried to interact with Life. Sin tried to make peace with Righteousness. But Cain’s energy was flowing in conjunction with that of the Serpent. And despite his religiously pious exterior, murder was lurking in Cain’s Sin-corrupted heart of hearts. And that is why God exposed him and his religious act. Remember God’s changeless laws of Creation: Energy always seeks the path of least resistance. In this context, another way of expressing it is:
The Energy of God’s Love (Word) always seeks the path of MOST ACCEPTANCE!
The polarity of God’s energy is a one way ‘direct current.’ God is the one and only Source. There are no other real gods. So God must do 100% of the giving. And we, His creatures, must do 100% of the receiving. This is true whether the world system admits it or not. There is no other real source but the one true God. But Satan tells us that we can be as God! And that leads us to believe that there can be many gods of our own choosing. But false gods turn out to be ‘false wall sockets.’ When dead men put their hope, faith and expectation in them, nothing comes out except disappointment, desolation and more death.
So after mankind fell into the Serpent’s trap, God’s living Word took on our mortal flesh in order to be our ‘Perfect Atoning Lamb,’ our ‘Tree of Life,’ our ‘Wedding Garment’ and Perfect ‘High Priest’ who sits with His Father on God’s eternal Throne…interceding for us before the Father Who sent Him to redeem us. This Perfect Word of God calls people out of the crowd when their time arrives. He summons them with the awesome command, ‘Follow Me!’ Why does He do it? He does it so that He can reconnect us to Himself and impart to us everything we need. Then He brings us with Him so that together we can bring His Perfect Presence to all of our fallen, ‘decapitated’ brothers and sisters so that they too can be reattached to the one and only Source of eternal Life. If we’re going to be His true disciples, we must be deeply and firmly grounded in His unavoidable, inescapable Truth and Reality.
“As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. So Jesus said to the twelve, ‘You do not want to go away also, do you?’ Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God!’” (John 6:66-69 Emphasis added.)
Cain seemed to have good intentions. But what was on the surface differed greatly from what lurked in his decapitated heart. Cain was the image and likeness of the murderous Serpent disguised in very religious, pious-seeming flesh. But that will never pass God’s judgment. Life never accepts Death; Light never co-exists with Darkness. Truth never compromises with Deceit. If you want to live as a true disciple, keep this in mind from now on: God receives nothing from ‘decapitated’ people. If it doesn’t come from His Word first, God will not accept what any Head-less human tries to offer Him. Why? Because it is not His image and likeness. If His beloved Son is not in it, it will never pass God’s Judgment.
Every disciple worthy of the name must be trained to live and operate on the wisdom side of this principle. We must be Spirit-filled, Spirit-led, and Messiah-embodying at all times and in all things. We have been warned; so now, let us obey.
“Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come; buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen that you may live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to (the Messiah, the Son of) David.” (Isaiah 55:1-3)
“Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,’ and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:17-20)
