19. The Real Issue of the Exodus
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and Darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be Light’; and there was Light. God saw that the Light was good; and God separated the Light from the Darkness.” (Genesis 1:1-4 NASB translation. Emphasis added.)
We’ve seen that in the Biblical world Light is the term God uses for the revelation and activity of His living creative Word. He reveals that He does and says everything that pertains to us through His awesome Word who proceeds from Him and is His perfect image and likeness and is one with Him in every way. The Bible also tells us that only in and through His living Word are we able to now and connect and become one with God. (See John 1, 3, 14 & 15 for example)
And now, at this post-resurrection and ascension era in the history of God’s dealings with us, we have received amplified, further unpacking of God’s original revelation. Now we know that His living Word, whom we saw at work in Genesis and Exodus, later became flesh and appeared on Earth in human form as Messiah Yeshua of Nazareth. We also know now that the living Word enthroned in Heaven in God’s Glory as the resurrected Lord of all Creation (See Hebrews 1).
So Yeshua is God’s eternal, living creative Word that the Holy Spirit began to reveal from the very beginning of Genesis and throughout the entire Torah of Moses and the rest of the Bible. Yeshua is the Creator, the Source of Life. He is also the Sustainer, Provider, Protector and Maintainer of God’s spiritual and physical universe and everything in it. To be in Him and for Him to be in us, puts us into the Eternal Horizon of God. Yeshua is everything to every creature that God has ever made. And, because He is the Perfect Word of our Perfect living God, the original work of Creation by this Perfect One is also Perfect and all-encompassing, and utterly comprehensive and complete. And that means that every need of every creature that God has ever made, is already provided, covered, paid for and given. And for free-willed creatures like us, it means that whoever believes, obeys, rests in, relies upon and draws from, the revealed Word of God, is intended and made to be one with God through and in, His Eternal Blood Covenant.
If we obey and align ourselves with God’s Word and the unchangeable spiritual, moral and physical laws of God’s Creation, Yeshua, the Word of God, will make us one with God and one with God’s Holy Spirit. On the other hand, the Torah reveals that Darkness is a state of separation or ‘decapitation’ from the Headship of God’s living Word. Darkness is a term describing Satan’s rebellion against the absolute Authority of God’s Word. It engulfs anyone that rejects the Truth that underlies the laws and workings of Almighty God’s Perfect Creation. Genesis shows that disobedience to God’s Word severed Eve and Adam from the Word’s Light and Life and dragged them out of the Perfect Horizon of God’s All-Sufficient Eternal Heavenly Kingdom and into the state of ‘Sin.’ Humanity joined the Serpent in his realm of spiritual Darkness and underwent the Death that results from being separated from, and at odds with, our one and only Source of Life. So now, God’s Word must deal with ‘living dead’ humans. He must free us from the state of Death…and lead us into the Exodus that takes us into His eternal Resurrection Life. So the issue in the Bible, as revealed in Exodus, is a ‘Life or Death’ issue for all of mankind.
God’s Answer to our Death…is Yeshua’s Resurrection!
So God sent His Word to seek Adam and Eve, to cover their spiritual nakedness with what God had already provided for their full Restoration. The Word’s mission, regarding the living dead human race, is to bring us all out of that satanic Darkness and Death…and to restore us to that original union with God and His eternal Life and Light. In other words, God’s dealings with us are always about liberating us from the state of spiritual Death and bringing us into His Resurrection Glory. God’s Word was sent to destroy the lethal works of the Serpent and to deliver us from all their effects. This is why Yeshua said to His disciples:
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven. [For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.] What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.” (Matthew 18:10-14 Emphasis added.)
God never reacts to the evils of Sin and Death and Darkness, in kind. He does not react to evil things in evil ways. That would only make them even worse. He always reacts to evil in a way that overcomes it with His Good. He always reacts in ways that make the evil, destructive things caused by Sin, righteous. And He is always intent on restoring them to His original Perfect Plan. Remember: He is Perfect Goodness. Perfection never changes; so He reacts to satanic Death with His Life and destroys the strongholds and works of the Serpent and his powers of Darkness. And He obliterates Darkness with His Word’s Light. He responds to the lies of the Serpent with the Truth and Reality of His living Word, Yeshua. So God doesn’t make bad situations worse; He nullifies and destroys the evil things that cause the destructive situations and then He redeems, regenerates and restores them. Thus God’s Word commands His image and likeness disciples thus:
“Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. ‘But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good!” (Romans 12:17-21 Emphasis added.)
Since the state of decapitation from God’s Word who is our true Head amounts to living death, anything we do in that dead state is radically cut off from, and independent of, God’s Word and Holy Spirit. So those ‘products’ are evil because they originate from what is in a state of evil…the state of Living Death. Thus the things done in that state are ‘dead dark works’ and are, by nature, always totally incompatible with, and unacceptable to, God who is Life and Light and Perfect Goodness and Righteousness.
The Cross… Our Way of Escape
That is why the changeless Gospel of Salvation always begins with God’s summons and command to ‘Repent.’ We must forsake and die to our original, inherited state of Death or radical independence from God. That Death state caused by Godlessness is what the Cross of our Messiah is meant to kill and strip away from us. The Cross kills and breaks the power of Sin and Death over us and sets us free to enter into the Eternal Life and Light that abides and rules absolutely in God’s Kingdom of Heaven. Our deliverance takes place when we believe, obey and reconcile with God’s living Word. As soon as we come back under His absolute Authority (by doing what He says and receiving what only He can give), He becomes our Head and Life Source once again. And we become living members of His Body. So His eternal Life and Perfection can flow into us and unite us with the Father who sent Him to us, at last. When God’s Word truly is our Head and we truly are members of His Body, He lives His Life from within us and operates in us and obeys His Father and meets His perfect standards perfectly, from within us, in our name!
This can only be done if we have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within us, transmitting into us the Perfect Life of God’s Perfect Word. So this is what Yeshua means to those who would be part of God’s New Covenant with ‘the house of Israel and the house of Judah’ (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:22-28). When Yeshua is the true Head of any Jewish or non-Jewish person, His Eternal Resurrection Life and perfectly Righteous Humanity flows into our regenerated spirits. And He can thus serve as our Eternal High Priest and Blood Covenant Representative before Almighty God. If we are going to be allowed personally and directly into Almighty God’s awesome Presence as ‘sons’ and ‘heirs,’ our right to be admitted will not at all be about us, or our performance or what we think or try to earn or accomplish. It will not depend on our genes or ethnicity or color or nationality. It will not depend on our theology, philosophy or radically independent ‘good works’. All will depend on the Perfection of God’s living Word made flesh and whether He is truly our Head, Lord and indwelling Life, and our Eternal Covenant Representative, or not.
The Resurrection of Yeshua’s human life is God’s acknowledgement and acceptance of the Perfect Atoning Life and Death His eternal living Word offered to God in Atonement, on our behalf. And the Gift of the Holy Spirit that only the Word has the authority to impart to those He represents in God’s Eternal Covenant, is God’s sign to us that His living Word truly is our Life and truly has become our Wisdom, Redemption and Righteousness in His sight (see 1 Cor. 1:29-30), and that He has adopted us as ‘sons’ and co-heirs with His living Word:
“So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer (share His crucifixion and death to self-life) with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.” (Romans 8:12-17 Amplification and emphasis added.)
Because of Yeshua’s true Divine identity as God’s living Word and because His Humanity is the true, perfect, Sin-less Image and Likeness of the Father, Sin and Death have no hold on the Messiah-King of Israel, or those He owns, indwells and represents. Yeshua is Lord and Master of all created things. And His perfect Atonement has legally crushed the Serpent, destroyed his works and broken the ‘death grip’ he once legally had over the entire human race. Anyone that will repent of his former self-life, and exchange it for the Word and His Life, will be taken completely out of the realm and influence of the Serpent and His powers of Darkness and Death, and into the Horizon of God’s Kingdom that is filled with the Light and Glory of His Word’s Perfect Finished Work!
This is wonderful news for Yeshua’s disciples, for they are the ones wise enough to forsake and deny and leave their original radically independent self-life behind…for His sake! To follow God’s Word and through Him to know and be one with God, is equivalent to eternal Life. We have the guarantee of it even in this demon-possessed world because we laid down our radically independent self-life for Yeshua’s sake, and He can now bring us all the way across the ‘Finish Line’ of time and space, and into the Resurrection Glory in Eternity that He earned for us when He poured out His precious human life and made Full, Perfect Atonement, for our sake.
“We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, guard yourselves from idols!” (1 John 5:19-21 Emphasis added.)
The Spirit of God is given to Yeshua’s disciples to dwell within them at all times and to transmit Yeshua’s perfect Resurrection life into them at all times. So, once we’re one with Him, anything He, the Word of God, is able to do to us, in us and through us, as our Head, becomes part of the God-approved Fruit we are privileged and honored and commissioned to bear for the Glory of our Father. All of this is done through and in and by God’s beloved Word, Messiah Yeshua, through God’s Holy Spirit. Yeshua’s Resurrection Life coming into us and manifesting His Presence through us, manifests the Word’s perfect Human nature and righteousness. And it is entirely Spirit-given and supernatural and not at all connected to anything in this fallen, Sin-corrupted world and anything that springs forth from it. The only Fruit that is pleasing and acceptable to Almighty God is the Fruit that originates in Him, and comes to us through the Authority of His own Word, by the Power of His own Holy Spirit. So now we can see what our Master was referring to when He was teaching His disciples in Matthew’s Gospel about the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots’ in the Kingdom of God:
“…the disciples came and said to Him, ‘Why do You speak to them (the multitudes) in parables?’ Jesus answered them, ‘To you (who are My disciples) it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted. For whoever has (the knowledge and living Reality of these mysteries) to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have (the knowledge and reality of these mysteries), even what he has shall be taken away from him.’” (Matthew 13:10-12 Amplification and emphasis added.)
Complete and Perfect Provision, for Every Need!
Whoever has will be given more; whoever has…what? Whoever has an intimate and obediently interactive relationship with God’s Life-giving Word, has the right Head on his spiritual shoulders. True disciples believe and rest upon the solid Rock of revelation that underlies the Perfection of all that Yeshua is, and does. They abide within Him who is God’s Heavenly Horizon of Light, Truth and Righteousness. Because He is one with them, through the Spirit of God, they are sustained by and abide with Almighty God at all times, and in all circumstances, no matter what happens! They rest and rejoice in and praise God wholeheartedly…and share in the Perfection of the Original Perfect, All-Sufficient Creation, Redemption and Restoration Work of God’s living creative Word.
The Rock of that original revelation given to us in the Torah gives us the wisdom that lets us know how to enter into the Horizon of God’s Perfect Sabbath Rest…to enjoy the absolute, airtight assurance that Yeshua’s Eternal Perfection is the Robe of Righteousness that covers our own personal, bankrupt, spiritual nakedness. After Yeshua becomes our ‘Eternal Covering’…nothing is missing or lacking for us! Everything that God foresaw and foreknew is handled and fulfilled to perfection by The Perfect One…the Word who was sent to do everything to perfection, in our name!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” (John 1:1-5)
“Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” (Genesis 2:1-3)
“After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, ‘I am thirsty.’ A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth. Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘IT IS FINISHED!’ And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” (John 19:28-30 Emphasis added.)
This is what God began to teach to, and through, the family of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He chose this family to be first. He began to forge them in the ‘furnace of affliction’ to transform them into His Word’s ‘disciple nation’ – for the redemption of the rest of the world. It was Israel’s task to get to know our perfect God…and to learn His perfect ways first…through perfect obedience to and rest in, His Word. God intends to restore all of that Original Perfection to all of us and to bring us all into the full benefit of it and bring us all into the Full Complete Fulfillment of His Inheritance…through Israel…and specifically and only…through her Messiah. We know that the Word, is revealed in the New Covenant Scriptures, to be God’s awesome, eternal, living creative Word, Yeshua, the beloved one…that God first began to reveal to the world in the first verse of the first book of the Torah! Now we know that He was, and is, the long-awaited, promised Messiah that Moses was writing about:
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to Him. This is according to all that you asked of the Lord your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.’ The Lord said to me, ‘They have spoken well. I will raise up (My living Word to be) a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in His (human) mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him. But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.” (Deuteronomy 18:15-20 Amplification and emphasis added.)
God intends to reveal and impart the Original Blessing He gave to Adam and Eve, through His living Word, and restore it to all of their children through the example and instruction God will give to the world through the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God deals personally with all of Israel. But He will be able to deal with the rest of the world, only through that faithful Remnant of Israel, the obedient ones within the larger Israel that take God’s Word seriously enough to actually believe and trust and obey Him.
This is what God’s Exodus Boot Camp was intended to teach to, and through the example of, the first two generations that God prepared Moses to lead out of Egypt. The nation of priests and teachers had to be set apart and trained first. That is what the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are spelling out for us. And this is what the book of Revelation and the Remnant of Israel in the Last Days era of God’s history with mankind, will ultimately fulfill to Perfection.
Despite the fact that you are born and raised in a fallen, broken Serpent-dominated world, and despite the fact that you were conceived into the state of Sin, Death and Darkness, God notifies us that all is not lost. He notifies us that we have all been deceived, spiritually blinded and killed and entrapped by the demonic angel that Genesis calls, ‘The Serpent’ and the Serpent is served and obeyed by a rebellious band of fallen angels…and many deceived humans. We have been notified that nothing we strive to do or achieve in our original state of selfish, self-centered, radically independent, Spirit-less living death, will be acceptable to Almighty God!
Knowing Our God – as He Really Is!
But God has also notified us that He has covered us and provided for all of our needs, even in this. He tells us that it has all been handled to Perfection, by His Word made flesh. And that is great and glorious Good News for true disciples of God’s living Word. In them, He is made real and alive and fruitfully active…by God’s own Holy Spirit! So, despite the Serpent and all the damage he and his legions have done to God’s Creation, God wants us to know Him…as He really is. And when we know His living Word, we know God Himself. Then we can breathe a sigh of relief and rest in God and rejoice in His awesome Perfection and in the Beauty and Goodness and All-Sufficiency of His Finished Work of Redemption and Restoration!
The angel (Messenger or Word) of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. O taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O, fear the Lord, you His saints; for to those who fear Him there is no want.” (Psalm 34:7-9)
Thus says the Lord,
“Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things,
thus all these things came into being,” declares the Lord.
“But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My Word.” (Isaiah 66:1-2)
When the real, true, living Word of God is your living Link with God – and you know the Word as He really is, you know Almighty God as He really is! And thus there is nothing for those who know and believe and obey Him like that, to ever worry about!
“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah) is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
“Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the Truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this: that He has testified concerning His Son.The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. And the testimony is this: that God has given us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the Life; he who does not have the Son (living Word) of God does not have the Life.” (1 John 5:1-12 Emphasis added.)
The living Word of God, in His finished Work, is absolutely, eternally Perfect in all ways, at all levels and in all things. So when you know Him and belong to Him, you have nothing to worry about! When all the necessary work has been done, there is nothing left for you to do but to believe, trust, rest and rejoice in The Perfect Worker and His Perfect Finished Work! This is what God intended to begin to teach Moses and the children of Israel…so that through them, He could teach it to the rest of the world. This was the underlying issue of all that took place with Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph in Genesis.
“Then God spoke all these words, saying, ‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.’” (Exodus 20:1-6 Emphasis added.)
This issue underlies everything that will be taking place with Moses and the newly formed nation of ex-slaves and throughout every other book in the Bible. And by the end of the era revealed in the Book of Revelation…we will all see the perfect Fulfillment of all that God chose to reveal to us through and in and by His beloved living Word and Son…the risen Lord of Glory, Messiah Yeshua.
So even when you ‘work’ as you handle the responsibilities and tasks of daily life in this fallen world, the issue is not that you are supposed to try to make new, unfinished things come into being and find ways to make them become ideal and perfect. The only thing that our efforts can really manifest, reveal and display, is the presence being transmitted to us by the Holy Spirit, of the perfection of what has already been accomplished by God’s living Word. The Holy Spirit transmits those perfect Heavenly results into us and into our circumstances, actions, reactions and interactions here in time and space on Earth. We are to demonstrate the Reality of our God and the Truth of His Word, and the Perfection of what the Word has already done on behalf of the human race…in the presence of His rebellious demonic enemies. This is the ‘crucified life’, the life that is always enjoying God’s Perfect Sabbath Rest…the life that is a living testimony to the Truth, Reality and abiding Presence of the Perfect One…
“For thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd cares for his herd in the day when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will care for My sheep and will deliver them from all the places to which they were scattered on a cloudy and gloomy day. I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and bring them to their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the streams, and in all the inhabited places of the land. I will feed them in a good pasture, and their grazing ground will be on the mountain heights of Israel. There they will lie down on good grazing ground and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest,’ declares the Lord God. ‘I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick; but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with judgment.’” (Ezekiel 34:11-16)
God’s Provision is Perfectly Complete
So…if all the necessary work has already been done to perfection by God’s living Word and already exists for us in Heaven…and if all of that is ready to be freely given, distributed and revealed for all, on Earth by God’s Holy Spirit…what need is there in our midst for slaves that toil ceaselessly in fear and anxiety? What need is there for humans to be obsessed with control issues and to be addicted to manipulation tactics and habits? What need is there for rabid predators and hoarders and misers that think act and react as if there’s never going to be enough to go around and there will be no ‘tomorrow’? What need is there for ‘dog-eat-dog’ competition and giant, heartless, wealth-producing mechanisms devised by the greedy spirits of God-less men that are geared to use, exploit and suck people dry…only to cast them out onto a trash heap when their usefulness has been exhausted?
If the Fruit of the Word’s finished work is being shared with us by our Almighty Perfect God, are we not His beloved Covenant friends, sons and heirs? When the Truth and Glory of God’s Word is Preeminent, what needs will we encounter that have not already been met? And when we know that everything is already done and is perfect and has already been given to us by our Heavenly Father, what need is there for us to try to conjure up other, extra, false gods on the side to make sure we are able to cover all the possibilities? And when we know that our Perfect God’s Work is already perfectly done, what chance will the Serpent’s lies have of effectively contradicting God and continuing to deceive and murder our souls and destroy our well being?
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insightHe made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:3-12 Emphasis added.)
So this All-Sufficient Perfection of Almighty God is what the book of Exodus continues to unpack and explain and highlight for our benefit. God is telling us that somehow, someway, He will always be working in and through the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob on behalf of the whole world. That’s why He must first train and discipline each generation of the children of Israel. They are to be His Word’s ‘disciple nation.’ He must teach, train and discipline those who will receive, believe and obey His living Word. They will be His Word’s disciples. They will serve God as His ‘Royal Priesthood’ and ‘Holy Nation.’ And they must be the first ones of each generation to enter into God’s Eternal Sabbath Rest…and to let the rest of the world watch as they abide with God and in God and rejoice with Him in all things and at all times. Then…through them…as the Holy Spirit supplies them with what they need from a totally unworldly, Heavenly Source, the rest of the Serpent-enslaved world will have a chance to watch them and then they too will begin to get a clue and allow God to graft them into what they see His chosen ones, the disciples of His Word, already enjoying on the Earth.
“See (Israel), I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do thus in the land where you are entering to possess it. So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him? Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today? Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.” (Deuteronomy 4:5-9)
Israel’s Key Role in the Salvation of the rest of the World
God expects the rest of the world to learn from Israel. It must become aware of the horrible lethal delusions under which it has been laboring all of its days, since the fall of Adam. When the sons of Adam can see that they were born into the Serpent’s slavery and domination, they’ll realize that they are spiritual orphans. They will see the difference between the curses they constantly labor under…and the awesome state of Blessing in which the true Remnant of Israel, the ‘Disciple of God’s Living Word, Israel,’ continually abides. Then they too will begin to take God’s Word very seriously. They too will be able to see the difference between Life and Death and Light and Darkness. They too will be able to look at the disciples of the Word and see, by watching them, what Divine Freedom, Sonship and the All-Sufficient Inheritance that comes from being in the Word of Almighty God are all about. And that is the part of Israel, the New Covenant Spirit-empowered Remnant part, that will serve as God’s ‘Light to the Gentiles.’
Through them, the rest of the fallen sons of the first Adam will have a chance to see and learn. They too can learn to join the disciples and begin to follow the Lord that they are following. And they too will allow themselves to be weaned and detoxified from the only existence they’ve known in this world’s ‘Egypt.’ They too can learn to be led by God’s Word…and taken completely out of their original Egyptian matrix. They too must learn to follow the example of God’s Israel…and leave that horrible, desolate spiritual Darkness and Death instead of aiding and perpetuation it. And they too can begin and complete their Exodus from Egypt and undergo the Boot Camp training needed to equip them to take and possess the Land of Promise and transform into full-fledged sons of the one true, living God!
This is what God offers to each generation of the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And through them, this is what He offers to each generation of the rest of the families of the earth. He is the one true God of all men. All men are His creations and His property and possession. And He has sent His Word to rescue and save and fully restore them all. This Salvation came to Israel first…but then, through Israel…it must be shared with the rest of the world, so that all men will have a chance to know the Truth and be set free by the One that is Truth Personified:
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! (i.e. there is no other!) You shall love (believe, obey, trust and draw from) the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Amplification and emphasis added.)
Notice how beautifully the apostle Shaul (Paul) paraphrased and expressed the meaning of the commands God gave through Moses in the Torah that you just read. We see it in what he wrote to the New Covenant disciples of first century Philippi and Corinth:
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say (you can always afford to), rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for NOTHING, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (the living, Perfect, All-Sufficient Word of God revealed through Moses).
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:4-9 Emphasis added.)
“I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do ALL THINGS through Him who strengthens me!” (Philippians 4:12-13 Emphasis added.)
“Concerning this (painful thorn in my flesh) I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, ‘My Grace is sufficient for you, for Power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the Power of Christ (God’s living Word) may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong!” (2 Corinthians 12:8-10 Amplification and emphasis added.)
These texts reflect the Glory emanating from God’s Perfect nature back to Him. Disciples that take such texts and the revelation they impart to heart…become living image and likeness ‘mirrors’ or ‘reflectors’ of God’s Glory back to Him…and to His demonic enemies…and to all the other humans around them. Such disciples are the proper response that all men and women must make to His Word’s Perfect Finished Work and the Eternal Rest He makes possible for the human race. Such texts reveal and describe what goes on in the mind and will of God, and what the mind, heart and soul of His true human image and likeness is required to reflect back to our Perfect God. We are to respond to Him just as He really is…perfect human faith…reflected back to our Perfect Almighty God…for His Eternal Glory. Such texts express in practical terms, how we can live by the eternal truths and principles God began to reveal to the world…in Genesis and Exodus.
Exodus continues to explain, amplify and ‘unpack’ the depths of the riches that were originally embedded for us by God in Genesis and throughout the rest of His Torah. This is what Yeshua and His apostles embraced and taught and lived and explained to their generation and beyond. God is continually revealing His living Word…the Word we now know to be Yeshua the Messiah. Yeshua, the living Word is revealed in every part of God’s written Word. He is the One that Moses was inspired by God to write about.
You can be sure that our Master Yeshua will always be fulfilling to perfection in our midst…EVERYTHING the Holy Spirit has written about Him. Disciples must always remember this, regardless of what era or century, continent, nation or set of circumstances to which they may be assigned as they give their testimonies in The Arena of Testimony… in the presence of the demonic enemies of our awesome, Almighty God.
“Therefore (in fulfillment of Deuteronomy 13 & 18:15-20) Jesus answered and was saying to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son (living Word of God) can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.” (John 5:19)
