Scripture uses the word ‘Light’ to express the Eternal Life and Truth that only comes from the one, true, Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the sole Source, the only Creator and Sustainer of all things. He speaks and His living, creative Word goes forth to do His will. The following is an example of what God reveals concerning His Word who became one of us to represent us before God and show us His Father’s ways and share His eternal Resurrection Life with us:
Psalm 40:6-10
“Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of Me. I delight to do Your will; O my God, Your Law (Torah Revelation) is within My heart. I have proclaimed glad tidings of Righteousness in the great congregation; behold, I will not restrain My lips, O Lord, You know I have not hidden Your Righteousness within My heart; I have spoken of Your Faithfulness and Your Salvation; I have not concealed Your Lovingkindness and Your Truth from the great congregation.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
John 5:19
“Therefore Jesus (God’s Word made flesh) answered and was saying to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son (God’s Word) can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.’” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
The Word became one of us. Therefore He can represent us eternally, before God. He is the perfectly obedient human image and likeness of the Father and He contains all of the Fullness of the Father who sent Him to us. Through His Word, God creates and ‘shepherds’ or sustains us; God provides, protects, redeems and restores His Creation by the Absolute Authority of His Word’s Perfect Obedience as revealed and lived out through Yeshua’s perfect human performance and God-satisfying redemption. In His Father’s Name, the Word creates, redeems and provides for everything that exists in our time and space dimension. The Word contains and desires to share with God’s obedient, Spirit-filled sons, the Life (Light) that God will be for all eternity, to those He will be able to redeem.
‘Darkness,’ on the other hand, is the term the Holy Spirit uses to express what abides in the evil abyss of the minds and wills of Satan and God’s other rebellious radically independent, free-willed creatures. They reject and oppose God and what He reveals and commands through His Word. That evil Sin-loving abyss contains the Darkness of separation from God, which is what leads to eternal ‘Death.’
We said earlier that the deadly conflict between the disobedient Serpent and the Word of God who always does His Father’s will, was raging in the heavenly realms even before God created the physical universe and before the Word took on Sin-less humanity. This is how Genesis, the first book of the Torah revealed it:
Genesis 1:1-4
“In the beginning God (through His living Word) created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and Darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be Light’ and (by the Authority of His living Word) there was Light. God saw that the Light was good; and God separated the Light from the Darkness.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
And the book of Hebrews amplifies and further explains the awesome significance of the Word and all that He contains within Himself:
Hebrews 1:1-4
“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son (the living Word that became flesh), whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the Radiance of His Glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the Word of His Power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent Name than they.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
The Word’s Authority Over Creation
Genesis immediately reveals the Word’s absolute Authority, Kingship and Dominion over physical Creation. God’s Word has established definite boundaries to separate what pertains to and comes forth from God, from what pertains to and comes forth from Satan’s lies and his powers of Darkness…and the Sin-corrupted humans who believe the Serpent’s lies and so rebel against God and His living and written Word.
Scripture makes sure we understand that Yeshua of Nazareth, the Messiah of Israel, who rose from the dead, is in fact the very same eternal living Word that God revealed in Genesis. This creative Word proceeds eternally from the Father. He became flesh in the fullness of God’s timing and dwelt amongst us in perfect, Sin-less Humanity as Yeshua, the Messiah. He serves as our Eternal High Priest and representative, sacrificial Covenant Lamb. So our Lord’s apostle, John, makes an unmistakable connection between the beginning of the book of Genesis and the beginning of the Gospel he was inspired to write to reveal and testify to his Master:
John 1:1-4
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the Darkness, and the Darkness did not comprehend (surround or grasp or master) it.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
This living Word who became flesh…is the Living Active Authority of Almighty God Himself, in Person! This living Person is our Salvation…He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life that are in Almighty God. Through His Word, God comes to claim what is rightfully His. Yeshua is the living Word from whom Adam and Eve and their fallen, Sin-corrupted offspring separated themselves in the beginning. He is the one with whom we all must deal and to whom we all respond…one way or another. God reveals that if we want to know Him and be redeemed and saved by Him from the guilt, condemnation and eternal death we inherited at conception, we must respond properly and obediently to the Redeemer that He sent to us. God’s Word made flesh is here to be our All-Sufficient ‘Covering,’ just as He once was for our first parents:
Genesis 3:21
“The Lord God (through His living Word) made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.” (Amplification added.)
Matthew 22:11-13
“But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in (Word covering Covenant) wedding clothes, and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer Darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
What Kind of Response Will We Give to God’s Revelation?
The attitude and manner in which we respond to God’s living Word made flesh and His summons to leave the Darkness and receive what He was sent to be and do for us, is the very response we make to the Father who sent Him. If we embrace and know the Word, we embrace and know the Father. This is why God tells the world through the prophet Isaiah and the apostle John:
Isaiah 66:1-2
“Thus says the Lord, ‘Heaven is My throne and the Earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My Hand (Word) made all these things, thus all these things came into being,’ declares the Lord. But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My Word!” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
1 John 2:22-24
“Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son (the Word) does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning (Genesis). If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
The entire world has been warned that each human’s response to His Word will have God’s full attention! Eternal salvation depends on it. Our reaction to the Word reveals whether we embrace God or reject Him. This is the underlying meaning of that primeval dynamic of separating the Light of God’s Word from the rebellious satanic Darkness of disobedience and Sin.
Matthew 12:29-30
“…how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.” (Emphasis added.)
God’s True Remnant
True separation from satanic Darkness is the hallmark, the essential characteristic of God’s Chosen People. The true ‘Remnant of Israel’ is ‘sanctified’ or ‘set apart’ and seen to be ‘holy’ or ‘reserved exclusively’ for God’s service in Heaven and on Earth. God separates His own from this fallen world’s system, from its false gods, and from worldly people who reject or ignore God and despise His living and written Word. God maintains His True Remnant, equipping them to be His holy (separated) nation…a holy royal priestly people… the pure, spotless Bride of His living Word.
As our Covenant Representative and High Priest, the Word is authorized to be and share God’s Light with us. Our obedience transforms us into His image and likeness. Through the Holy Spirit God can spiritually equip and train us to abide with Him at all times, and to draw whatever we need from His Word’s perfect Finished Work as our exclusive Source and Inheritance. The Word is the Captain of the Lord’s Host, leading and including His own in the relentless invasion of, and victory over, Satan’s Sin-corrupted Darkness. So God says concerning His Son:
Isaiah 42:5-7
“Thus says God the Lord (to His Word), Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it, ‘I am the Lord, I have called You in Righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, and I will appoint You as a Covenant to the (chosen) people, as a Light to the nations (gentiles), to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon and those who dwell in Darkness from the prison.’” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
Isaiah 60:2-4
“For behold, Darkness will cover the earth and deep Darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon You and His Glory will appear upon You. Nations will come to Your Light, and kings to the brightness of Your Rising. Lift up Your eyes round about and see; they all gather together, they come to You. Your sons will come from afar, and Your daughters will be carried in the arms.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
Acts 13:46-47
“Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly (about this separation process and emphasized that it is always taking place), ‘It was necessary that the Word of God be spoken to you (unbelieving Israelites) first; (however) since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we (believing Israelites) are turning to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us (the believing, obeying Remnant of Israel),
‘I have placed You as a light for the Gentiles, that You may bring Salvation to the end of the earth.’” (Amplification and emphasis added.)
The Ongoing Separation Between Light and Darkness
The original Genesis conflict between Light and Darkness and the separation between them that God initiates is relentlessly carried forward…to Abel…to Noah…to Abraham and to Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and then to Moses and the Pharaoh and Israel and Egypt. Continuous conflict rages between the Truth and Light of God’s living Word and the Darkness caused by the lies of the Serpent. It divides the human race, regardless of ethnicity, location or status, into two opposing camps. This is why all those who would be saved, Jew and non-Jew alike, must truly make and complete their Exodus from the realms of Darkness.
Each Sin-corrupted human is caught up in this struggle between Eternal Life and Eternal Death. Eternal Life comes from the Perfect Presence of God and reconciliation and reunion with Him through His Word. So because we are all born trapped in Adam’s original living Death, God sent His Son, the Word, to be our Resurrection Life. This is what God was emphasizing to the pagan idolatrous pharaoh and the people of Egypt through His Covenant relationship with Moses and all believing, obeying Israelites:
Exodus 10:21-29
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be Darkness over the land of Egypt, even a Darkness which may be felt.’ So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was thick Darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days. They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the sons of Israel had Light in their dwellings.
“Then Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, ‘Go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be detained. Even your little ones may go with you.’ But Moses said, ‘You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice them to the Lord our God. Therefore, our livestock too shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we shall take some of them to serve the Lord our God. And until we arrive there, we ourselves do not know with what we shall serve the Lord.’ But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was not willing to let them go. Then Pharaoh said to him, ‘Get away from me! Beware, do not see my face again, for in the day you see my face you shall die!’ Moses said, ‘You are right; I shall never see your face again!’” (Emphasis added.)
We Must Choose To Live In the Light Or We Remain In Darkness
Satan never stops trying to keep us in that decapitated state…at odds with our Source of Life and our true Head. Throughout Israel’s history, even many children of Israel have remained trapped in unbelief and disobedience to God. They refuse to complete their personal Exodus from Egypt. Only when God’s living Word is truly our Head and Lord can we and our households truly belong to God. And if we belong to God, we must remain separated from those who continue to disobey God. Our identification with God’s Light separates us completely from satanic Darkness. Our departure must be absolute and total. God’s enemies are our enemies; His friends are our friends.
When we compromise with God’s enemies, we prove that the true Exodus separation has not yet taken place in our mind, heart and will. How can we continue to compromise with Death and yet escape being engulfed by it? Can anyone be free and saved from going down with the Titanic if he insists on clinging to his stateroom and refuses to abandon it? What part of Death can we cling to and still be free of its curse? No…every cancer cell must be removed from a body, lest the body remain infected and under the death sentence! That’s how it must be regarding the spiritual chasm that separates satanic Sin and Death from God’s Righteousness and His Word’s Eternal Resurrection Life. God requires us to die to satanic Darkness. The Word completely severs all of our former attachments to Satan, Sin, the fallen world system and the Death that engulfs it.
Joshua 5:13-15
“Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, ‘Are you for us or for our adversaries?’ He said, ‘No; rather I indeed come now as Captain of the Host of the Lord.’ And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, ‘What has my lord to say to his servant?’ The Captain of the Lord’s Host said to Joshua, ‘Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.’” (Emphasis added.)
Matthew 10:32-36
“Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in Heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in Heaven. Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household!” (Emphasis added.)
If we allow our faith, love and trust in God to split apart and scatter in conflicting directions, we prove that we still cling to and depend on false gods. We do not yet truly trust the one true, living God. Doubting and questioning God gives evidence that we do not acknowledge His Eternal, All-Sufficient Perfection but view Him as imperfect and inadequate. And so to fill in the gaps we believe God’s inadequacy leaves, we create and pursue false gods to try to gain a sense of security and wellbeing. But every false god originates from the Serpent’s lies and they keep us trapped within his coils! Spiritual Death results when we reject God’s Word. The death inflicted by Sin is the Darkness that keeps us bound as slaves to the Serpent. And that is… ‘Egypt’.
As long as our hearts remain separated from God, Satan can legally maintain his death grip on us. We can’t be trapped and free at the same time! No mixture of disobedience with obedience is allowed. There can be no compromise with the fatal ‘cancer cells’ of Sin. We must die to all of it. So notice how craftily the Serpent tried to get Moses and his people to compromise. He was willing to allow part of Israel to leave, but required a part of her to stay behind. And God rejected that offer. He insisted on the total, absolute, uncompromising separation and departure of His people. All that they were and possessed had to leave Egypt. God demands that once we hear His Word’s summons to follow Him, we and our households must die completely to whatever we were before. Only total death to Egypt frees us to live with Him, from Him, and for Him.
Our Master Yeshua gladly and willingly endured torture and crucifixion and the actual, physical, experiential agony and atoning loss of His human life to redeem us and cut us free from the Serpent’s coils. His human death as our Covenant Representative legally redeemed the human race. But we must each receive what He gives personally. Each of us must follow after Him in person. We must pick up our crosses and join Him in that personal death experience…dying to all ties to our former Adamic life and its worldly soulish, disobedient mindsets and priorities. We must forsake the false gods of our Sinful addictive habits, lifestyles, opinions and agendas. We and the households we run and maintain must die mentally and emotionally to any attachments and reliance upon the false gods of this fallen world to which we used to cling. And in place of our former fear that God is not enough to meet our needs…we must root ourselves in His true revelation and obey the legitimate commands His Word gives us. And our obedience will then expose and discredit the Serpent and his lies.
Matthew 7:18-21
“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in Heaven will enter.” (Emphasis added.)
Disciples are equipped by God’s Spirit to prove and demonstrate that they actually abide in total loving union with the Word, with all of their mind and heart and will and strength. This is what the Biblical term ‘circumcision of heart’ means:
Matthew 10:37-39
“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his (Adamic radically independent) life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.”
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Emphasis added.)
God’s Perfect standards of Righteousness cannot be met and satisfied by people who compromise with the world, the flesh and the Serpent. How can our Perfect God be impressed or satisfied with shallow, mealy-mouthed lip service and pretentious religious disguises? Only an authentic and total response to the Word can give evidence that the full substance of God’s Truth and Reality is working and bearing the Word’s Fruit from within our innermost spiritual being…our ‘heart.’ So let’s review the issues we’ve already considered throughout Genesis and the beginning of Exodus:
- The one true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is eternally, infinitely perfect in His nature, character, disposition, wisdom, power and the all-sufficiency of His finished work on behalf of His Creation and its needs. Because He is Perfection Personified, He deserves and requires our perfect, airtight, exclusive faith, hope, love and obedience.
- God’s Creation and the Original Blessing He gave to the human race in Genesis 1 are Perfect and All-Sufficient to meet our every need. And His Eternal Covenant and living Word and Holy Spirit are also Perfect. His Eternal Covenant is perfect. His credibility, reliability and dependability are perfect. And since He is eternal and infinite, His perfection will never change or diminish or fail us. Once He speaks, His Word stands forever. So we can rightly expect to be able to rest in Him at all times, with absolute assurance that His provision for us is all-sufficient. His perfection insures that the credibility and authority of His Word to us are perfect and absolute in every way and never leave anything open to question or doubt, as long as we look to and depend upon Him as our one and only Source.
- But the Serpent denies and rejects, contradicts and disobeys the revelation and commands God has given through His living Word. He relentlessly strives to weaken and destroy our trust in God and the credibility of His Word. And when he succeeded in getting the original parents of the human race to doubt, question, contradict and disobey, just as he had already done, he deceived Adam and Eve and got them to sever themselves, and the rest of us, from our original living connection to God’s Life-giving Word. Thus humanity became the image and likeness of the Serpent, instead of remaining the image and likeness of God. We have called that separation from God’s Word who is our Life Source and Provider, ‘Spiritual Decapitation.’
- The Serpent’s lies cleverly and easily deceived our first human parents even though, at that time they were Sin-less and their image and likeness of God nature was intact and functioning properly! But now that our nature is Sin-damaged and corrupted, it’s much easier for the powers of Darkness to deceive and warp and twist our perceptions, reasoning and grasp of God’s Truth and Reality.
1 Peter 5:6-11
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of Sin is Death, but the free gift of God is Eternal Life in Christ Jesus OUR LORD.” (Emphasis added.)
Jeremiah 17:9-10
“The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart; I test the mind, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds.”
Mark 7:20-23
“…‘That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.”
John 2:24-25
“But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men, and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.” (Emphasis added.)
God immediately sent His living Word after the parents of the human race, to reveal to us that His Word is our eternal, changeless, All-Sufficient ‘Covering’…Redeemer, Purifier, Restorer, Atonement and High Priest! Because God is Perfect, His Word is Perfect. God and His Word never change. So His Word cannot be countermanded or over-ruled by anything in Creation. What God pronounced in the Beginning will be Perfectly Fulfilled for all eternity…by the time this temporary space and time dimension has run its course. We cannot save ourselves; God is the only one that can do it…and He has…through Yeshua our Messiah!
Ephesians 2:1-10
“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Emphasis added.)
God must reveal His Word to everyone in this fallen, Sin-corrupted, demon-possessed world…to save us and apply the Salvation He was sent to be to us…upon each one of us, individually and corporately. The entire fallen world must be set free from its state of death for the King of the Kingdom of Heaven has come to take back all that is rightfully His! This is what Scripture has been warning us about. And so, from the very beginning of this time and space, physical dimension, the spiritual Exodus of Light From Darkness has been in effect:
Genesis 17:1-6
“Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am God Almighty; walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”
“Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, ‘As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you will be the father of a multitude of nations (peoples or gentiles). No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you. I will establish My Covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.”
Matthew 4:17
“From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
Mark 1:16-18
“As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, ‘Follow Me and I will make you become fishers of men.’ Immediately they left their nets and followed Him!” (Emphasis added.)
From the beginning, as revealed in Genesis and Exodus, God has been separating what is His from what refuses to be His. And although the pharaoh, like many rulers and custodians of this fallen world’s God-less system, remained obtuse, spiritually blind and adamant in his rebellion against the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, many of the people under his domination and throughout the surrounding territories began to see the Light that was abiding in and coming forth from within Israel. And the Light of God’s Word beckoned to them and they too began to respond to Him. The Darkness in their hearts began to dissipate as their hearts and wills opened more and more to God and His Truth that was being revealed through Moses and the situations into which God’s Word was leading Abraham’s ever-growing family:
Exodus 11:1-3
“Now the Lord said to Moses, ‘One more plague I will bring on Pharaoh and on Egypt; after that he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will surely drive you out from here completely. Speak now in the hearing of the people that each man ask from his neighbor and each woman from her neighbor for articles of silver and articles of gold.’
“The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Furthermore, the man Moses himself was greatly esteemed in the land of Egypt, both in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.” (Emphasis added.)
Light Dispels Darkness…Always!
Pharaoh refused to submit…but the Word’s Light began to dispel the Serpent’s Darkness and His Salvation began to take root and produce Fruit all around the pharaoh. For God in His great, eternal Perfection is Selfless Love. He never changes. Nothing created can stop or deter or defeat the Creator of all things. So even before the war began, God’s Word had already won. In His changeless eternal Perfection, He had eternally overcome all that the powers of Darkness would ever try to do to oppose Him. And so the Word has promised:
John 14:16-18
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (Emphasis added.)
Therefore:
Romans 12:18-21
“If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. ‘But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD!” (Emphasis added.)
