As we continue to ponder the way God separates the Light of His Word from the Darkness created by the Serpent’s lies, it is important that we see, clearly and accurately, more of what our Creator is doing, and why. He won’t be doing anything new; that is, He will never deviate from the Complete Eternal Perfection of what He has already created. He is not changing anything; He is restoring everything. He will regenerate and transform Creation until it returns to the original perfection He has always intended it to have.

So the deliverance of the chosen people from slavery in Egypt is connected to, and flows forth from the ‘Covering’ God sent His living Word to be for Adam, Eve and their offspring, in Genesis 3. And what took place between God’s Word, and Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph in Genesis, was a continuation of a deeper, fuller, progressive revelation of the infinite, eternal significance and importance of God’s living Word, whose image and likeness we were designed and created to be.

God is making sure that we become fully aware of all that His precious, all-encompassing Word means to us, and what His ‘Covering’ of our Sin-corrupted nature and restoration to our God-given purpose and destiny, must entail. Whatever takes place throughout Exodus and beyond, is a progressive revelation of the Word of God in Genesis and how He is fulfilling His mission of restoring us to God’s love and mercy by fulfilling the promises He made to His Covenant friends, Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Throughout all of eternity past…before He created this time and space cosmos, God had an Eternal Covenant with Himself in His heart, mind and will. The Father’s primary and initial Blood Covenant Friend is His own living Word. This is the same Word who interacted with the Covenant friends listed above and who later became flesh and revealed Himself to us as our Divine, Eternal, Perfect covering Redeemer, Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel. In this Eternal Covenant, the Father fulfills the part of God; and His Word fulfills the part of Eternal Covenant Representative for the entire human race:

Hebrews 13:20-21a

“Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the Blood of the Eternal Covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will…” (Emphasis added.)

After God created the time and space universe, through His living Word, He sent the Word to reveal Himself to, and include the first humans and all their offspring in this Covenant. The Covenant is meant to include every human being without exception. But as God revealed in Genesis, not all Sin-corrupted humans will believe and trust God, nor will they allow His Word to restore them to God’s love and grace. Nevertheless, God created a Family of trusting, obedient believers and disciples of His Word and included them and their households in the Covenant. So we learn about Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their descendants, who later developed and grew to be, the children of ‘Israel’.

After He finished His perfect, all-sufficient Creation, He added His crowning touch…He created Adam and Eve and included them in the Eternal Covenant. And He bestowed His perfect, all-encompassing Original Blessing upon them and their unborn offspring at the end of Genesis 1. Then He brought His Covenant favor and blessings forward in time and space and included Noah and the genealogical line of the human fathers of Israel and the enormous family that came from them. He did that to insure that, through these faithful, obedient ones and the Eternal Covenant and the Representation of His living Word, every fallen, Sin-damaged, mortally wounded human would have the opportunity to be grafted into this Covenant and the Eternal Life and Salvation it makes available to those that believe, repent and become the image and likeness of God’s living Word, as God originally intended.

Genesis 12:1-3

“Now the LORD said to Abram, ‘Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.’” (Emphasis added.)

Genesis 15:17-19

“It came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

Genesis 17:1-5

“Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am God Almighty; walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My Covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.’

“Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, ‘As for Me, behold, My Covenant is with you, and you will be the father of a multitude of nations (Gentiles). No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations (Gentiles).” (Amplification and emphasis added.)

In His sovereign wisdom, God chose the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel) to be the lineage from which His own living Word would one day assume our human flesh and blood nature, except for Sin, and appear on Earth as Israel’s Messiah and The Lamb of God! Again, all of this was to fulfill the Eternal Blood Covenant God made with His Word and the ‘Covering’ for our fall into Sin that His Word provides for us. This is what God began to reveal in Genesis and continues to unfold and explain, throughout the rest of the Bible. This is the awesome God-given legacy and all-important commission that belongs to those that will truly follow God’s living Word and serve as His devoted disciples:

Isaiah 41:5-14

“But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham My friend, you whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its remotest parts and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you. Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’ ‘Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel; I will help you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.’” (Amplification and emphasis added.)

Romans 11:25-32

“For I do not want you, (non-Jewish) brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob’…‘This is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.’

“From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; for the (Blood Covenant) gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy. For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.” ( Amplification and emphasis added.)

Eternal Covenant Revelation

The eternal Covenant is a revelation of God’s Perfect Eternal Love Nature. It is the means by which God first brought the fathers of Israel and their household into a perpetual union with Himself. All this existed in God’s mind and heart and Plan, before He created anything. That is why all the work and the redemption and the payment needed to redeem us from the Sin is not anything new or different. All of it existed in God’s infinite, omniscient foreknowledge…from all of eternity.

This is revealed through what Abraham once thought he had to do with and through his son Isaac. He thought God was requiring him to make a total sacrifice of his beloved son. But the truth was that in God’s mind, everything concerning Abraham and his family and all of humanity is centered on His beloved Son…His eternal, living Word. God is being perfectly faithful and true to the Covenant promises He made to Himself, before anything in time and space came to be. And this eternal bond between God and His living Word is what He sent His Word to reveal and share with Abraham. When Abraham wholeheartedly accepted and believed God’s Word, the Word became one with Abraham. And through the Word, Abraham and his household became one with God! So the perfect loyalty and faithfulness that God requires of Himself through His Word, is ‘The Eternal Root’ into which God intends to engraft all of mankind. God’s Word is our perfect, ultimate Salvation, Restoration and Eternal Life! From all of Eternity past and throughout all of Eternity future, He is Everything to us! This is what the Torah is revealing.

Once God brought Abraham into His Covenant Family, each child of Abraham was commissioned and given the opportunity to become a disciple of God’s living Word. Thus Abraham became the original human father of ‘Israel’, God’s entire, Jewish and non-Jewish Covenant Family on Earth. He was the original ‘point of entry’ through which the Humanity of the Word made flesh would be able to enter our dimension and begin the family line to which He Himself would belong! Because of the eternal union created by this Covenant, the Word appeared in time and space, as a member of Abraham’s earthly family. Thus the Eternal Covenant Bond had an earthly ‘base of operations’ from which God’s Word could operate. From that granite-solid Covenant base or ‘Foundational Rock’, the Word can do the work He was sent to do on Earth. This is how He can engraft and include the rest of the human race into God’s eternal Salvation. This is the way by which God extends and offers His perfect Love, Grace and Mercy to all of His beloved, Serpent-deluded, mortally wounded human beings.

Matthew 7:24-27

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on The Rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” (Emphasis added.)

When the Father showed mercy and favor to the children of Israel in Exodus, He was revealing to the rest of us, the eternal Blood Covenant instrument that came forth from God’s eternal mind and heart…to Adam, Eve, Noah and Abraham. He was revealing His living Word, who is ‘The Way’ through which God extends grace and mercy to all peoples of the Earth. This is why it is so important for His Word’s disciples to believe, repent and obey their Master’s summons to leave Egypt. As part of God’s chosen Covenant Family, they must embark on and complete the Family’s Great Departure from the Serpent and Sin and Death. They must follow God’s Word, as He leads them out of the demonic Darkness, and teach as many others as possible, to follow Him as well. Disciples of the Word are commissioned to demonstrate to the rest of the world, what the differences are, between those whose Head is God’s Word, and those the Serpent manages to keep ‘decapitated.’ The differences between these two groups reveal and highlight the narrow path that leads repentant humans through the demonic ‘mine fields’ and brings them out safely…into God’s Eternal Life.

Matthew 4:18-20

“Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He *said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.” (Emphasis added.)

So whatever we see God doing or not doing throughout Genesis and Exodus and the rest of the Bible will be a revelation of this same eternal world-saving Plan and purpose. God is honoring the Eternal Covenant He made with His own Word…and into which He included Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And now, for Abraham’s sake…but ultimately for His own Word’s sake, He is ready to include all the others…with and through Israel. God will never betray or forsake His Covenant Friends (‘Blood Brothers’). So if the other families of the earth wish to be united to God, they must unite with Him through His Word…through the testimony of His disciples that make up God’s Chosen Family, so that they too can become adopted children of Abraham.

Galatians 3:6-9

“…Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness. Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham. The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, ‘All the nations will be blessed in you.’ So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.”

It was from the lineage of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that God’s Word appeared as Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel that had been announced and promised through the prophets. So, centuries before the coming of His own Son, the Word, God had to test Abraham’s faith and his commitment to the Covenant he had with Him. What would come later had to be built on a truly authentic, solid base, ‘The Blood Covenant Rock’. So He led Abraham to believe that He was requiring him to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac. And Abraham proved how much he believed in God’s Perfection and how much he trusted His Covenant Lord. That test brought out, activated and proved that Abraham’s obedience and faith and trust in God was the image and likeness of God’s Perfect Nature. Abraham’s faith, hope and trust were not based on anything within himself. They were solidly and completely based upon God, and His utterly Perfect eternal Nature, Character and Credibility! Abraham knew God so deeply and intimately, that he was able to throw himself and his heart’s deepest attachments entirely upon His Covenant Lord’s Loving-kindness and faultless Perfect Trustworthiness. So Abraham obeyed God without any reservation. And He did sacrifice his ‘Son’, only it wasn’t Isaac. It was another Son that came much later. Yeshua, in the capacity of ‘Son of God’, is the eternal living Word of God, His Son. And, in the capacity of the human, Sin-less ‘Son of Man’, He was also a Son of Abraham. So together with God, Abraham, God’s beloved Covenant friend…offered up this Perfect Son…as a sacrifice by which the Eternal Covenant could be fulfilled to absolute, eternal Perfection.

Tested and Found Faithful

And after he passed that gut-wrenching test, proving that his Covenant with God was truly heartfelt and airtight…Abraham and what pertains to him receives perpetual honor and blessing from God. God honors His ‘Rock-based’ friend in everything He does throughout the Book of Exodus. And He has continued to honor him throughout all of Israel’s bitter, painful, bloody history. And the same Salvation that God gave to Abraham, is what the Book of Exodus makes possible for any human who will hear, believe, repent and obey God’s Word. Abraham’s physical and spiritual descendants are commissioned by God to be His ‘holy nation’ and ‘royal priesthood.’ They are the glorious ‘Bride’ of God’s Word.

So, on this basis of Abraham’s trust in God, and God’s Covenant loyalty to Abraham, the children of Israel were summoned to embark on this Exodus with God’s Word. And on the way, the Word was intending to train, discipline, correct, groom and equip them to be the ‘first fruits’ of the enormous future multi-national Family Exodus from this fallen world’s God-defying system.

And the ‘New Covenant’ that God promised, through Israel’s prophets, to make in the future with Israel, was actually a renewal and actual fulfillment to an ultimately perfect extent…of everything that is eternally required by this beautiful Blood Covenant Bond that exists between God and His Word, and all of the redeemed, sanctified, human image and likeness members that are one with His Word, and abide faithfully and obediently under His Headship.

So as this fulfillment works its way progressively through space and time, on its way to eternity, God remains focused on bringing all men and women to true repentance and obedience. He must strip away the original living death state of Sin that separates them from God. If they permit Him to do what only He can do, He frees them from Sin and Death and leads them out of ‘Egypt’. Obedience makes us one with God’s Word. And when we are one with Him, we are one with Almighty God who sent His Word to save us:

Colossians 1:28

“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.”

Colossians 3:5-11

“Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amount to idolatry. For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old (Sin-corrupted Adamic) self with its evil practices, and have put on the new (regenerated) self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ (Messiah) is all, and in all.

First Comes Death – THEN – Comes Resurrection!

Notice the pattern revealed in Abraham’s story. After God’s Word revealed Himself to him and summoned him to follow Him, Abraham literally had to die to everything he was, or thought he was, prior to that encounter with God. He died to his former identity, nationality and worldly priorities and ties. Dying to what he once was, enabled him to allow God to transform him into ‘the first Hebrew’…one who crosses over from radical independence from God and dependence on the fallen world’s system…to oneness with God’s living Word.

Genesis 17:1b-2

“…I am God Almighty; walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly…” (Emphasis added.)

So a Blood Covenant Bond unites God with every human that He is able to graft into this Root of Salvation. The only way to describe such a radically deep and comprehensive Reality-Shift is to see it in terms of death and resurrection. God intends to make brand new creations out of every one of us. The Sin and living death we originally are conceived in cannot be saved, improved or restored. God, in His awesome Perfection, requires a whole new creation. And so our eternal God is utterly demanding and invasive because He must totally purify us and make us absolutely new. After that, we are His exclusive, eternal Treasure.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

The Covenant bond requires that we allow nothing and no one that is created, to take the preeminent place of The Creator in our minds, hearts and lives. He alone must be our sole Source, our one and only God. He will not share His Glory or His position in our hearts with anyone or anything else. And this is the source of contention between God and the Serpent. The Serpent has totally rejected his Creator. He is intent on trying to take His place as ruler over all of Creation. His aim is to separate human beings from God by a variety of ways. If he succeeds in convincing us that his lies are true, we will naturally continue to serve him instead of repenting and following God’s Word. And that destroys God’s image and likeness and prevents God’s beautiful Covenant from fulfilling its purpose. And then, Satan will use our failures to discredit God’s Word. Thus He can reinforce his accusations and slander against God, thereby deceiving and entrapping more and more people.

The powers of Darkness never stop trying to deceive and lead humans to doubt, suspect and mistrust their Heavenly Father. And those who believe their lies continue to mistrust and disobey God’s Word. So the Serpent keeps them ‘decapitated’ or separated from their true Head and Life Source; and that leads to eternal death. The doubts, fears and insecurities that the powers of Darkness slip into our minds and hearts are like deadly viruses that diabolical hackers slip into the ‘computer hard drives’ and ‘operating systems’ of unsuspecting victims. The viruses contradict and reject God and twist and distort the truth of His revelation and His promises and claims. So people are blinded, deceived and driven to seek and serve alternate sources of wellbeing and provision. They idolize created things and make false gods out of what is as weak, helpless and dependent as they are! And that keeps people trapped in the coils of the great deceiver and forces them to do his bidding.

Isaiah 44:9-11

Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame. Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit? Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame.”

The pharaoh and his wise men and military forces thought they could crush Israel in the names of their many false gods. But they were blind to true Reality. The living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob opposed them. God Almighty spoke His Word…to cover the children of His friend Abraham…and by His Word’s Authority and Power God confronted every one of Egypt’s false gods and exposed, discredited, toppled and put them all to shame. The pharaoh was not dealing with a rebellious group of slaves. He was dealing with the living God who had chosen those weak, disenfranchised, defenseless people for His own service. He forced Egypt to release them so they would be free to follow His Word into the wilderness…to be trained and equipped to abide in His service!

And anyone or anything created that dares to reject or oppose the living Word of God that created them, will share the fate that befell the pharaoh and his people. They will not escape God’s wrath and judgment if they try to oppose the awesome Salvation that He sent His Word to be for us…in and through His chosen Covenant People! Israel is God’s chosen servant. Through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Israel is God’s Blood Covenant friend. God has spoken. And His Word says that whatever you do to God’s Covenant friends…you do to God Himself!

Matthew 25:31-40

“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.

“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Isaiah 44:1-5

“But now listen, O Jacob, My servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen: Thus says the Lord who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you, ‘Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; and you Jeshurun whom I have chosen. For I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring and My blessing on your descendants; and they will spring up among the grass like poplars by streams of water.’ This one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’; and that one will call on the name of Jacob; and another will write on his hand, ‘Belonging to the Lord,’ and will name Israel’s name with honor.’”

The Eternal Blood Covenant is for All Humans!

So…we make a terrible mistake when we deduce that God made a Covenant with Abraham so that He could show favoritism and take sides against all other peoples. That is not what is happening! On the contrary, God brought Abraham, Isaac and Jacob into His eternal Covenant so that they and their descendants could be used by God to honor His Covenant with His living Word on behalf of Adam, Eve and all of their offspring, Jewish and non-Jewish alike! Don’t forget that God brought Adam and Eve into His Covenant as well! So everything God is doing, and not doing, in Scripture, is a revelation and how perfectly He is intent on fulfilling His eternal promises, through His Word, to His human image and likeness:

Genesis 1:26

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…

Because God is Perfect, once He speaks His Perfect Word, the Word stands forever. God will never betray or replace His Word in any way. He is always fulfilling and validating His Word. So even when the Word’s disciples fail and stumble and even fall…God is always faithful to come to their side…to pick them up, cleanse them and restore them. But if they refuse to repent, He bypasses them and continues to fulfill His promises with those who will hear, believe, obey and follow His Word.

Hosea 6:1-7

“Come; let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; (then, through our Covenant Representative, Yeshua) He will raise us up on the third day, that we may live before Him. So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.

“What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning cloud and like the dew which goes away early. Therefore I have hewn them in pieces by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth; and the judgments on you are like the light that goes forth. For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, and in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. But like Adam they have transgressed the covenant; there they have dealt treacherously against Me. (Amplification and emphasis added.)

The Living Word is our Perfect (and Only) Source

For His Word’s sake…God shows Covenant loyalty to Adam, Eve and all their offspring, even after their fall into Sin. God spoke His Word in the beginning and created everything His creatures would ever need to fulfill their God-given purpose and destiny (See Genesis 2:1-3). And through His Word, God blessed them and gave them everything they would need to prosper and fulfill their purposes and destinies (Genesis 1:26-31). So, for His Word’s sake, and the sake of His Name, God sends His Word to cover their spiritual nakedness and remains intent on saving and restoring all of mankind.

His chosen instrument for doing this is the family of Abraham. He will be utterly faithful to this family…so that through them, His Word can perfectly fulfill God’s plan and purpose…and vindicate His Name…and utterly blast, confound and destroy the lies of the Serpent and his powers of Darkness that have done so much damage to His Creation. God will have it his way, and His intended image and likeness will fulfill its purpose and destiny…for God’s sake and for the sake of whatever He sent His Word to reveal and require of the human race.

This is why God is not a respecter of persons. He loves us all and He is being faithful to us all and He is intent on redeeming and saving and restoring us all. But Israel is His chosen instrument by which He will accomplish this. So He is jealously intent on protecting Israel and providing for her needs, despite all of her human weakness and personal inadequacies and failures. Despite that, God will perfectly fulfill and honor His beloved living Word. It is for the accomplishment of all of this that He sent His Word to become flesh and make sure that He would do to perfection everything that His plan and purpose require of Israel, and of all the rest of us.

Revelation 12:7-12

“And there was war in Heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in Heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, ‘Now the salvation, and the power, and the Kingdom of our God and the Authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the Blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life (soul) even when faced with death. For this reason, rejoice O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.’” (Emphasis added.)

So…for His Name’s sake, and out of Covenant Loyalty to His Word, and to those His Word has brought into this awesome Blood Covenant…God remains loyal and true to each and every child of Adam and Eve…even though they were all corrupted and damaged by Sin and misled by the Serpent’s lies and are working at cross-purposes to His eternal Plan and Purpose. Despite that, God never abandons or forsakes any of us this side of eternity. He is always intent on saving each one. And that is why He sends His Word…to seek us out…to cover our nakedness…and reconcile us to Him while there is still time left for it to be done.

Isaiah 55:1-7

“Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come; buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to (My Word made flesh, the Messiah who is the Son of) David. Behold, I have made Him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples. Behold, you will call a nation you do not know, and a nation which knows you not will run to you, because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” (Amplification and emphasis added.)

So whenever we see God working in the midst of men, He is expressing His love and faithfulness on behalf of them all. He is sending His Word (the Commander of the Lord’s Host) to lead all of repentant, obedient disciples in His Invasion of the Serpent’s realm of Darkness. Wherever the Light of God’s Word is taken by His disciples, the Serpent’s Darkness is dispelled and his works are destroyed. God does this on behalf of all of the children of Adam…through His beloved Israel.

The Real Conflict

So the conflict is not between God and mankind; it is between God’s Word and the powers of Darkness. Unfortunately, many humans choose to side with the Serpent and oppose the coming of God’s Word. They oppose the Word and His disciples. And so there are casualties. But whatever opposes God and His Word is doomed to defeat and desolation. But that is not God’s choice; it is our choice. Thanks to His eternal Blood Covenant, God is forever on our side. But if we reject what He reveals in His Word and decide to oppose Him by disobeying His commands, we place ourselves in the awful position of opposing God’s Covenant friends. But how can we prevent the Inevitable and oppose the Unstoppable? How can we prevail over those that God Almighty Himself protects and fights for?

This is what Cain and Nimrod and the builders of the tower at Babel and the pharaoh of Egypt in Moses’ day and so many others, tried to do. And they suffered defeat and destruction. And today, Jews and non-Jews alike continue to try to reject and replace God’s Word and persecute the Word’s disciples. But they will never succeed:

Matthew 12:15-21

“But Jesus, aware of this, withdrew from there. Many followed Him, and He healed them all, and warned them not to tell who He was. This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: ‘Behold, My Servant whom I have chosen; My Beloved in whom My soul is well-pleased; I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel, nor cry out; Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. A battered reed He will not break off, And a smoldering wick He will not put out, Until He leads justice to victory. And in His name the Gentiles will hope.

God has chosen to love and save all men. But many oppose God’s initiatives on their behalf; they side with the Serpent. They believe his lies and do his bidding and serve as his image and likeness. In that sense, they enter an unholy reverse Covenant with the Father of Lies. So he is able to drag them deep into his Darkness and into eternal Death. This is why God’s Word made flesh gave this stern warning to such people:

Matthew 12:30-37

“He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit (when He personally reveals God’s living Word to him), it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers (offspring of the Serpent), how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Our reaction to God’s Word is always the issue — in Genesis, Exodus and all portions of the Bible. God is forever faithful to His Word. His Covenant is always in effect. So the way we react and respond to His Word determines which army we’re part of and whose cause we defend and promote. We either serve God and His Word as part of their Covenant, or we serve the Serpent and his rebellion against God.

This is the basic revelation of the Bible. It identifies exactly what is going on all across the earth…in every human heart. So…what goes on in your heart? Is what was in Abraham’s heart also in yours? Or is your heart like the pharaoh’s…indifferent and opposed to Moses and what he was inspired to reveal about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their family?

Exodus 12:21-27

“Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, ‘Go and take for yourselves lambs according to your families, and slay the Passover lamb. You shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning. For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you. And you shall observe this event as an ordinance for you and your children forever. When you enter the land which the Lord will give you, as He has promised, you shall observe this rite. And when your children say to you, ‘What does this rite mean to you?’ you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to the Lord who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians, but spared our homes.’” And the people bowed low and worshiped.
