Our Unique Disciple Wavelength Frequency (Part 1)

Beloved Family… as you know, we’ve been exploring the unique lifestyle of learning to focus upon, and rest in, rely upon and exclusively draw from… our Lord’s Perfect indwelling Presence. It’s hard to describe what that’s like because, to tell you the truth, I don’t know of anyone who has focused on this in the way I feel the Lord is urging us to do. There may be others; but we have yet to encounter books and articles on this. And we have not yet heard teachers, or schools or spiritual authorities of any persuasion emphasize this as we feel we’re being led to do.

So I must admit that there are times when I wonder if I’m crazy. Why should this be so important that it would block out so many other things? Why can’t we be like the people around us who simply tend to the business of living their lives as prosperously, safely, productively and enjoyably as circumstances will allow? Why isn’t that good enough?

He is With Us, Always

Those are questions I keep asking myself. And when I try to think of other pursuits and ways with which to occupy my time and interest, nothing really appeals. Nothing seems as important as finding a way to respond adequately to the Lord’s promise to be with us at all times.

“…I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, even to the end of the age!’” (Matthew 28:20 Emphasis added.)

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” (Revelation 3:20-21 Emphasis added.)

If it’s true that the Living Uncreated Word of God (who loved and treasured us so much that He poured Himself out and suffered untold agony to cover and redeem us and make us His own) is always actually abiding with me… what is the appropriate way for me to respond to His Presence? How can I show my appreciation and render Him the honor, respect and ongoing friendship and hospitality that such a Friend, a Friend who happens to be Almighty God, would deserve? How can I fully benefit from this awesome reality-transforming New Covenant opportunity? I must admit that this prospect blows my mind. But because I’ve never seen this become truly real in our midst, I have no real idea of what these mind-blowing statements really mean or what changes we would have to undergo in order to make them real and alive within us.

I might come up with some kind of idea of how this might work, were our Master to present Himself in the ordinary physical presence sense of the term. In that case, we could learn from the disciples we read about in the New Testament Gospels. But after His Resurrection and Ascension, He’s not going to be present to us like that. Now He is here to connect with us on a completely intangible, purely spiritual wavelength that is not natural or familiar to us. What the New Covenant promises is still not an integral, essential part of the normal religious procedures of Israel and the Church. So, although our risen Messiah promised that He would always be with us, nobody around us is able to show us what that really means or how it is to be done! So, we have a problem. And from my perspective, that means we must leave it to the Lord Himself to show us what He has in mind. Only He knows what He meant to say. Only He knows what He desires to do and have with us. So if I really believe that He is with me, in a new supernatural way, I have no choice but to rely on Him to teach me what this means and how I am supposed to respond! And if His promises truly matter to me, I should make myself as receptive to Him and as ready to cooperate as I possibly can! But to do that, I’d have to live purely by faith, maintaining a continual attitude of submission and expectation… on Him. I’d have to do this so that when He’s ready to make it happen, He can take over and do whatever Father sent Him to do… to me… in me… and through me. I can think of nothing else I could realistically do, but to look to and wait upon, only Him.

The Lord told us He would transmit His New Covenant Presence into us and make it real and fruitful in our midst…. to fulfill God’s unique New Covenant Word-fulfilling purposes:

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the Truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me (God’s Living Word), for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.” (John 16:13-15)

Because this promise of New Covenant realities to come is so precious and important to us, especially if we truly are entering the Last Days Era, I’m struggling to figure out how to respond to it in a way that would do justice to the Lord’s Lovingkindness. I keep asking Him to show me the right way of seeing, thinking and navigating through the events, situations, circumstances, interactions and great limitations with which I am faced. I ask Him to show me the precise way that would please and satisfy the desires of our Heavenly Father. What response can I make to His Living Word that would caress our Father’s face and cause His heart to be pleased and gratified by the way I receive and interact with His beloved Son, whom He has sent to abide with me? These are some of the questions every true disciple will have to face in the days to come: What does the abiding Presence of God’s Living Word mean to me? What is the Holy Spirit here to disclose and transmit into me that puts me in direct touch with my resurrected Lord? Why does God think it’s necessary to give His Son to us in this way? And how will I choose to respond to this tremendous Gift?

I don’t believe that our risen Lord has casual acquaintances. He’s much too intensely personal for that. If He truly is our Creator, Sustainer and Perpetual Shepherd, He has to be with us, and in us, to provide every breath, heartbeat and brainwave we’ll ever have! So I’m convinced that He never intends to interact with us at superficial, impersonal levels and settle for dealing with us from a long distance. No, He’s here to be closer to us than we are to ourselves! If He does not provide everything we need at every moment, we will instantly blink off and disappear into nothingness! Without Him, none of us can even burp! So for the Living Word of God, who sustains us in existence, there is no such thing as a shallow, long distance relationship! We’re dealing with Almighty God, and we must deal with Him solely in terms that match His Heavenly Truth and Reality! It’s true that many think and act and react as if there is no God. They assume that they have lives of their own and have the right to operate as radically independent agents. But just because they believe that doesn’t automatically mean that it’s true! There’s a vast difference between what men think and say about themselves, and what God says about us:

“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.” (John 15:4-8)

Humanistic, rationalistic Men proclaim that there is no God and that Man’s intellect is the measure of all things. But God says that our soulish mental faculties are corrupted, damaged and grossly limited by the living Death that is in our DNA! He says that in Reality, we are as helpless and dependent as dust, and that without Him we can do nothing! So, we dare not be careless and flippant concerning such things, especially if we already know the Lord and have actually heard His call to serve and follow Him as His disciples! We certainly can’t afford to assume it’s okay for us to remain at a distance from Him and still expect to be His true image and likeness embodiment! No, we must submit to His Reality and learn to live as one with Him, like branches live as one with their Vine!

We must begin to interact with Him… always deferring to Him… always receiving everything we are and have and are able to do… directly from Him! If we do that in the authentic New Covenant way, I believe we’ll transform into living channels and embodiments of His Presence and Activity on Earth! And God has made it clear that He has set us apart specifically for that purpose! The world cannot see or know God. But it must be able to become aware of Him, by seeing His supernatural fruits, flowing out of us! That will let them know that His invisible Presence is indeed,absolutely real, as they see that He is revealing Himself from within us! There will be no other way to explain the supernatural Fruit that will continue to emerge from our midst.

“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give! Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff (the way worldly, radically independent people have to do); for the worker (who abides in God’s Word-revealing Presence and service) is worthy of his support (from the Holy Spirit of God!)” (Matthew 10:7-10)

This is what the Lord was training His disciples to be and to do. But in my admittedly limited experience, I’ve not encountered a school or college or religious denominational organization that even comes close to specializing in showing us how to follow in the footsteps of the original New Covenant, apostolic era disciples. That’s why I’m convinced that no man can make disciples for the Lord, in His place. If we’re truly going to be His disciples, then He must teach and train us Himself. But for that to take place, we must be deeply convinced that He actually is here with us, with all our heart and soul and might! Our faith in His Perfect Reality will have to be so real, that the world will be able to know that He is here, thinking, acting, reacting and speaking. He will make Himself known to them as He actually reaches out to them… through our flesh! He must be able to prove to the world around us that He is really here and that we really are one with Him. And we must develop the spiritual ‘eyes and ears’ that will equip us to share and operate in His ‘frequency’…  always ‘hearing’ and obeying His voice and following His guidance.

Doesn’t our awesome God deserve this unique kind of military-level focus and attention? Shouldn’t we respond to His awesome New Covenant initiatives with the utmost reverence, attention and authenticity? Is there any other way by which we could, with any integrity, call ourselves His Body on Earth? The disciples in the Gospels pursued the Lord full time! They didn’t dabble with side agendas and come and go as they pleased. They realized the necessity of actually living with Him, day and night! In the eastern culture of the Biblical world, that’s how masters and their disciples interacted. The disciples became members of the master’s personal household! So when Rabbi Yeshua summoned His disciples to follow Him, they knew they would have to drop everything they thought they were, and forget about everything they thought they knew! They had to sever all ties to anyone or anything that would in any way prevent their ongoing interaction with Him or would lure them away from His full time service. In other words, when they answered His call, they knew it required them to make a terminal severance from their past, from that point forward… and following and obeying Him would be the only option on their personal menus from that time forward.

On that basis, they trustingly, obediently followed Him into the ‘Great Eternal Unknown.’ And very often, that meant eventual martyrdom! So beloved, it’s one thing to casually read a few favorite sections from the Bible and quickly glance over the accounts of people like Moses and the prophets and the apostles of the New Covenant. But it’s something else entirely, to have God place you in the very same position that they had to be in! They were confronted with a dire crisis that they had not been seeking! That’s the only way I could describe a true encounter with the Living God. It is a crisis… when your Creator suddenly invades your space… and you must suddenly begin to interact with and respond to His initiative, on His terms! When that happens, you couldn’t possibly know what to expect next. His electrifying, overwhelming Presence would have to become your sole Guide, letting you know in the depths of your being what comes next. All we could know in such a case is that He is Fully Alive and Present… and that you will never be the same!

“Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation!’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.” (Exodus 19:3-6 Emphasis added.)

“But you are a Chosen Race, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a People for God’s Own Possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, BUT NOW YOU ARE THE PEOPLE OF GOD!” (1 Peter 2:9-10a Emphasis added.)

In the first century, God began to initiate His New Covenant Era. But He was gentle and patient with the first disciples of that era. He started their relationship with His Living Word at an easy, elementary, purely natural level. By that I mean they came to know God’s Living Word in the normal earthly way… on a human, tangible, flesh and bone, face-to-face level. They connected with Yeshua physically. They could see Him with their eyes, hear His voice with their ears, and touch Him with their hands. They interacted with Him in the natural, normal earthly way, the physical way in which teachers and students usually interact. But that was short-lived. In a short time, God introduced them to the Cross. And the Cross introduced God’s death and Resurrection pattern in the most intense and graphic way possible. God was about to ‘wean’ them entirely from operating on the physical plane of existence that is common to this fallen world.

So, after His Resurrection, the Lord did something different. He would appear to them in His risen state… occasionally. One moment they would be convinced that they were alone… and suddenly He would be in their midst. His Presence would seem to be intermittent, apparently on and off. At that time, He was ‘weaning’ them of having to know Him in the flesh. And, after a few days, He ascended back to His Father’s Heavenly Realm, and the weaning was complete. After that, they had to learn to abide in His Presence by Faith, through the promised Holy Spirit’s supernatural Activity. And now in this post-Ascension New Covenant Era we’ve inherited, we must be ready to start at that post-Ascension level… operating out from the Holy Spirit, by faith! We can’t know or be with our Master in that former fleshly way. But yet, we must learn to have the same level of intimate relationship and lifestyle with Him that He was demonstrating in the first century when He lived among those disciples in the flesh!

While Yeshua was here in the flesh, He could not see or touch or feel His Father… but, through the Power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, God’s Living Word made flesh was always in direct touch with His Father. And now, we must learn to be in direct touch with our risen Lord who we cannot see or touch, in that very same way! We must learn to connect with Him on that same spiritual New Covenant Holy Spirit-connection. And that wavelength frequency is totally supernatural! So the frequency that connects us to our Master has to be God-given. And that’s a real challenge for people like us to handle. We are born into, and conditioned by, this fallen world that is as sensuous and materialistic and self-centered as anything can be! Yet… God’s Holy Spirit is here to equip us to operate in it on this purely Heavenly wavelength frequency that the world knows nothing about!

“Jesus answered, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God! That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again!’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.’” (John 3:5-8 Emphasis added.)

“Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth!” (John 4:21-24)

When I try to fathom what texts like these were promising for the future (the future in which we are obviously living) I can’t think of anything that would be more important than learning to abide in what our Master said would be possible. What difference would any fleeting ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ things make – the things that this fallen world finds so important and obsesses over – when compared to what God’s Living Word promised that His people would be able to do in the Last Days? Didn’t He have us in mind when He made those promises to Israel in the past? But yet, modern people continue to do the same thing that has happened through the ages – just as the Samaritan woman the Lord spoke with was used to focusing on the man-made Samaritan temple on Mt. Gerizim, and the Jewish people remained focused on their man-made temple worship in Jerusalem. People of our time focus on worshipping God in the setting of man-made synagogues, churches, mosques and a variety of other man-made and controlled structures. There is very little difference between what the Lord was talking about then, and what we see all around us today. But He was telling that woman about something radically new and different that would one day come into this world. He was referring to the New Covenant – of which we claim to be a part!

“But this is the Covenant which I will make with the House of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, ‘I will put My Law (Torah) within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ FOR THEY WILL ALL KNOW ME, from the least of them to the greatest of them,’ declares the Lord, ‘for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more!’” (Jeremiah 31:33-34 Amplification and emphasis added.)

“For I will take you from the nations (from among pagan unbelievers), gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own (New Covenant Israelite) land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances!” (Ezekiel 36:24-27 Amplification and emphasis added.)

When Yeshua was describing this great difference to the woman at the well, was He not talking about us? Wasn’t He promising the New Covenant realities that we in our generation are supposed to be living out and embodying and fulfilling in the Last Days! But beloved, if we truly are approaching the Last Days Era… then look around you. And look within you! Do you see any real trace of the fulfillment of what our Lord was describing to that woman? Are we, who are lost in a huge buffet that offers over 38,000 different ‘God as you like Him’ entrees to pick from, really worshipping the Father in Spirit and in Truth, when we know we are blatantly disobeying and violating what His Word so clearly said His Father was desiring to see in our midst?

If we’re ever going to be Messiah Yeshua’s authentic New Covenant disciples, we must transform into ONE, HOLY, LIVING New Covenant Temple of Almighty God’s Awesome Presence! But to grow into the Fulfillment of such an awesome role, we must actually believe and trust in and manifest the Lord’s Resurrection Presence with all of our heart, soul and might! We must actually interact with His Living, Spirit-imparted Fruit-producing Resurrection Presence. We must interact with Him at this level, just as truly and intimately as the first century disciples once interacted with Him in the flesh! So we must develop a level of belief and trust in what He promised that will actually enable us to walk in the reality of what He promised! And we must forsake all of our ‘exempt civilian’ attitudes, mindsets and lifestyles before we’ll be able to embody what He revealed and promised authentically and precisely. We must become the living proof that God’s Word is absolutely, perfectly true and real and reliable. He must be revealed from within us and in our midst, with such dazzling intensity that the unbelieving world will actually be bathed in His awesome world-transforming Light!

So, regardless of how terribly bad and chaotic and frightening things may become in this poor fallen world, the Lord’s Last Days disciples will have to give reliable reassurance to the unbelieving peoples that our awesome, majestic, infinite God is everything He has claimed to be and that He is actually here with us… ready and able to meet all our needs and see us through whatever lies ahead of us! So, to grasp the meaning of what Scripture has promised, and to abide in the Reality of it and know how to live it out is, to say the least, a daunting challenge at this point of our history!

But, if any group of people has been selected and assigned to learn this… it’s that group of people who, in their heart of hearts, are hearing the same ‘Follow Me’ summons from the Lord that those first century disciples heard with their physical ears! And if you have a heartfelt interest in disciple matters and feel a God-given desire to move into such a reality the way the others do who are drawn to our Follow Me Ministry Family, then I invite you to ponder and absorb from our website, and from our printed material… the seeds of instruction that the Lord has given to us to sow throughout the continents of this world.

I wrestle with these disciple-training issues because we need to fathom the New Covenant depths of meaning contained in what God has revealed to us about His Living Word, through His written Word. The New Covenant promises were given for such a time as this! So let’s ponder these questions: What will the lives of those who will fulfill God’s Last Days promises look and sound like? What will begin to happen in us and to us and through us, if we who are alive today finally take all of this to heart? What will we look and sound like if the Holy Spirit actually begins to empower us to think and act and interact with our risen Lord… in the way God’s written Word is describing? He promised that He would be doing amazing, world-changing things to us… in us… with us, and through us! And we seem to be the generation within which all of this will soon start to be fulfilled! So that’s why I urge us all to develop the habit of thinking and acting as if all of this is absolutely true. I don’t know what else to do, or any other way to respond to what He told us we would be doing in the Last Days, except to start believing this wholeheartedly and to begin to expect to see it happen, within us and among us! If the Last Days truly are upon us, then it stands to reason that we must begin to embody what our Master said to His original disciples:

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full!” (John 15:4-11 Emphasis added.)

“I do not ask on behalf of these (first century disciples) alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may ALL be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

“THE GLORY WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN TO ME, I HAVE GIVEN TO THEM that they may be one, just as We are one; I IN THEM AND YOU IN ME, THAT THEY MAY BE PERFECTED IN UNITY, SO THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW THAT YOU SENT ME, AND LOVED THEM, EVEN AS YOU HAVE LOVED ME!Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, SO THAT THEY MAY SEE MY GLORY, WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world!” (John 17:20-24 Amplification and emphasis added.)

Beloved… can you see how deep the meaning is in the above texts? What is the Lord revealing and promising to us? And what will it take for all of that to become real to us, in us and through us? The Spirit of God is here, in us, to make the Living and written Word come to Life within our very flesh! That’s why we New Covenant disciples must learn to believe that He is really and truly here with us, all the time, ready to make it happen. And if we really do start to believe that He’s always here with us, and in us… it should be fairly easy for us to begin to abide and interact with Him. And His Presence should soon become blatantly and clearly obvious to anyone who is around us!

If God really is introducing us to this Spirit-empowered New Covenant Reality, we should never again have to worry about being alone or left to our own devices. If God really is always with us, we must be totally convinced that He will never go away nor will He ever forget us or become distracted and preoccupied with other things and other concerns. We should be convinced that we always have His Full Attention and that He is sharing His incomprehensible Heavenly Fullness and Abundance with us at all times!

So beloved… how will you respond to this? Where do you think that our full time attention should be fixed?  This is what I’m wrestling with right now. And I’m asking Him to teach us all to reciprocate and respond to Him in an appropriate and fitting way. We have the privilege, honor and responsibility of making Him welcome as He abides within our hearts! It’s our job to learn to practice the art of giving Him our full attention… all the time… in all things… no matter what! He deserves nothing less than that wholehearted level of loving attention, respect, hospitality and dedicated service!

“Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.” (Matthew 24:42-44)

So can you see why He has to separate us from the hustle and bustle of the worldly crowds that are so busy ignoring Him and doing their own thing all the time? To capture our full attention, He has to cut us out and away from that dense mindless ‘herd’ and lead us into places of solitude and isolation and perfect stillness. If He doesn’t, the din of the worldly chaos and babble and the distractions caused by our digital age will effectively drown out His still small voice which can only be perceived when we concentrate on Him fully and interact with Him purely by faith in what He has revealed and promised in writing.

Please don’t misunderstand: I’m not saying we should all become hermits or cloistered monks and nuns. I’m saying that in our hearts, we should maintain a laser-like focus on our indwelling Lord and Master, regardless of where we are or what may be going on around us. It’s not about us being confined to life in a monastery, or limiting ourselves to only doing certain things in certain ways. It’s about Him piercing, penetrating and impregnating each one of us to our very core… with His omnipresent Resurrection Life… at all times and in all things! He must take us over completely, everywhere and on every level. He must be free to overwhelm everything that is within us and around us. He must live His Life and reveal His Perfect Righteousness in us and through us, regardless of what we used to be, or where we are, or what we were doing just before He appeared and took over!

This disciple lifestyle truly must be an Exodus! God must take us out of, and away from, the din and clamor of the soul-driven ‘Egyptian’ wavelengths and worship levels of all false religions. The fallen world is much too busy worshipping its myriads of false man-made gods to pay attention to the True Living God. Noisy idolatrous worldly distractions always drown out the Heavenly spiritual things that God is here to convey to us and reveal in us and through us. So, He will lead us away from our former preoccupations with created things… and lead us into the outer wilderness, into a level of solitude and helpless dependency that we never imagined could be possible. He will wean us of our addictive reliance upon natural, created, earthly resources, devices and distractions. And gradually, in place of all that, He’ll develop in us a level of awareness in which He alone will be the over-riding Object of our focus and awareness.

So, to say the least, the frequency level of this disciple path has a very narrow ‘band width.’ And that is why only a few people ever find it and stay connected to it. We’ll never lock into this ‘God Frequency’ as long as we see and think of ourselves as part of this fallen world and its systems! As long as we identify with that, we’ll allow ourselves to remain totally immersed in and preoccupied with the static created by all the mundane worldly distractions and issues and events. But realize that, in even less than ten years from now, all of those paltry, shallow issues, fads, and addictions that people obsess over with such frenzy today will soon disappear and be forgotten! None of it will have any relevance a decade or so from now. The world will soon forget them and they will not be thought of or spoken about any more. All of today’s hyper-important breaking news will, by that time, have no more significance than scraps of waste paper and empty beer cans, lying amid the weeds of a vacant lot!

The way of the disciples is truly unnatural to fallen flesh. It is a Heavenly, rarely travelled path. It is the only authentic and safe way for us to go if we expect to enter God’s Eternal Kingdom! Only on that path can we learn what it is to truly be human… to serve as the living image and likeness of our awesome Creator. This is why God gives us this awesome New Covenant Gift of His Holy Spirit! And once we repent of our radical independence and submit ourselves and our interests and aspirations to God’s Living Word… and agree to obey Him and follow Him as our only Lord, Owner, Master and Shepherd… we’ll be equipped to mirror Him instead of being filled with temporary things that He has created! And when we’re finally filled with Him and are mirroring and reflecting Him, we will never ever be alone again! We won’t have to sniff around like stray puppies, looking for food or a home or some kind of master that will take us in. Our Almighty God will be our Everlasting Companion and Fulfillment!

He will always be present to us… as our Blood Covenant Friend and Champion because His Living Word and Holy Spirit will always be living and operating from WITHIN US! And like the Light of the noonday sun, God will blot out all the Darkness that remains in us and around us… and He will overwhelm it with His Brilliance! So can you see how wonderful and secure and convenient that will be for us when we’re wise enough to believe and expect to have it? In the Last Days, when everything created and temporary will be so shaken that only what is Eternal will remain… people, unbelievers and disciples alike, will have nothing physical and tangible and earthly to focus on or cling to or to rely upon. At that time, our Treasure and Fortress and Peace and Rest will most certainly not be found in a bunch of temporary created physical conditions, things, gadgets, people or created sensations and feelings and moods that are disintegrating and blowing away like dust in the wind.

Our Treasure, Fortress, Peace and Rest will be the Uncreated One… the Almighty Spirit… the Living God of all Creation! The Eternal One has set us apart and reserved us for Himself and is giving us the training we need to be prepared and equipped for when all of that begins to happen! He is here to prove to us that He truly is our Eternal Home and Reward and Fulfillment. And He has chosen us to serve in His exclusive service… to reflect all that He is… exclusively… to the rest of the world that surrounds us! And He has regenerated, or recreated us spiritually for this unique, beacon-like purpose. And so even now, while we’re still en route on this Exodus Trek, we can be perfectly compatible and interactive with Him by the union of His Spirit with our new God-connected spirits! We are no longer mere creatures of God… we are His regenerated sons and heirs! His own Life and Righteousness and Kingdom Realities are abiding in our innermost being! And His Word and Spirit are leading us into the Fullness of our Total, Eternal Restoration and Inheritance, even now!

This is our challenge: to plumb the awesome depths of the meaning contained in our Marching Orders. Almighty God has gone to unspeakable trouble, pain, anguish and suffering, to make it possible for Him to become one with us. So shouldn’t we respond to His loving initiative at a level of sincerity and humble responsiveness that honors and does justice to His Love? Shouldn’t we render to Him the honor that His Lovingkindness on our behalf truly deserves! This is why our Marching Orders are important and necessary for us to carry out to the best of our ability. To refresh your memory, I list them for you once more:

• Take My people further in their understanding of what it is to be a temple of My Presence.
• Teach them to think along with Me, in all things.
• Teach them to listen to Me at all times, even as they are thinking!
• Develop a great tenderness and sensitivity for My Presence within them. Teach them to worship Me in the depths of their spirits and innermost minds, in all things.
• Teach them to understand clearly and thoroughly, what it means to be faithful to seek, in all things, My viewpoint and the purpose of My Kingdom, Kingship and Righteousness. If they do that, I, for My part, will add all other things for them.
• Take them further in their ability to understand the depths of the New Covenant relationship they have with Me. Teach them what their part is to be.
• Teach them how to respond to Me in even the tiniest matters.
• I am with them in all things and in all ways. I want them to be with Me in the same manner!

The Lord wants us to learn to live with Him at all times… so that we may actually grow spiritually to a point where we are living FROM Him at all times! He is here to fill us with His own LIFE, so that He can BE everything we will ever need! This is what He promised to give us through The New Covenant! And this is the Destination to which the words: “Follow Me,” are leading us! The Lord is telling us:

“Learn to defer to Me so that I can live My Life in and through your spirit, soul and body. Learn to set aside your radically independent ways on an ongoing, moment-by-moment basis. You naturally have a short attention span. So you must practice developing the level of focus and consistency this is going to require. Crucify the mundane, worldly ideas and considerations that will always be trying to get in the way of our union. Get them out of My way so that I can continue to make Myself known to you and so that you will always be able to hear My voice as I communicate what is in My Father’s heart to you. And if and when you do that, I will fill you, and your circumstances, with what is in My Father’s heart for you, and the rest of His Creation. I will be and do everything He sends Me to be and do for you. I will do it – to you, in you, through you, and, as you!

“The Father and I are One! So always remember that you were intended to be My image and likeness! You were made to do everything together with Me and from Me, just as I do everything together with and from My Father. But the only way that can happen is if you get to know Me and study My ways and know what I have been sent to Earth to do through you! The more you learn of Me, the easier it will be for you to allow Me to live My Life from within you. When you can do that, you will receive everything you are, and all that you do, and all of your provision… FROM MY HEAVENLY FATHER! And I, His Living Word, will be the Eternal Life that courses through you and works from within you. And you will truly be the living expression of MY PERFECT HUMAN RESURRECTION MESSIAH LIFE!

“I must be free to obey My Father and meet His Perfect Standards of Righteousness from within you… in your name! Only I can honor and serve and please Him at the level of Perfection that Almighty God’s Holy Nature requires! You know that you can’t do that. Only I can do it! So defer to Me; keep your fallen flesh out of the way so that I can be what only I can be and do what only I can do… in your name.”

Beloved, I ask you to imagine the above scenario being your permanent moment-by-moment new identity and lifestyle! Imagine what it will be like when you are continuously aware of the Lord’s Presence within you and you are consulting with the Lord about absolutely everything! Imagine how that will change everything about you. Imagine what it will be like for you to wait at all times on what the Father tells His Word to do next from within you. What will it be like, when you are waiting for Him to begin to execute His Father’s next order… through you… as your permanent lifestyle? The Living Word that abides within you is eternally waiting on His Father to convey what is in His heart… so that the Son can make it happen throughout Creation, just as His Father wants it to be! The Word of God is the Perfect Disciple and Covenant Friend of the Father! And you are chosen to become the perfect disciple and Covenant Friend of the Word that serves the Father so faithfully and perfectly! So, how’s that for a new identity, mindset, purpose, status and position for you to learn to occupy and fulfill?

This is why I urge us all to learn to wait on our indwelling Lord to hear what He is here to put into our hearts. And when that information is transmitted to us… we can then allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to allow God’s Word to act and produce the fruit that only He can produce… in us and through us.

Do you think it will be a good thing, if, at this unbelievably critical and dangerous, strife-filled time of human history, there emerges an ever-growing army of Spirit-filled people who have been fully trained and given the skills and equipment necessary to actually embody the Living Word of Almighty God in the midst of this fallen Sin-corrupted world’s disintegration? Would such Light, shining amid such Darkness, make a difference? Would it change anything if our awesome God could be seen abiding in and working through His Word’s disciples simultaneously? Would it give hope to the fallen people of this world if they could see Almighty God… tending to the needs of the people who treasure, value, serve and embody His Living Word all across this demon-oppressed world?

He is ready to do that very thing. He will do that for us and through us. He will do it for whoever will hear His voice, and believe what His Word reveals, and do what He commands. Through His precious, awesome Holy Spirit, Father will lead the grieving, suffering, frightened masses of this world into the personal spheres of influence of His faithful disciples. And through them, His Word and Spirit will reach out to many, many others… and literally save and transform them and remove the living death from them and He will become their Eternal Life at last. I can’t do that for anyone; nor can you. But God is here to do it… through our obedient faith and cooperation. This is the awesome commission for which we Jewish and non-Jewish New Covenant disciples must be trained.

Through His Son’s willing submitted, Word-embodying disciples, Father will fulfill all of the New Covenant realities that He promised to bring into this world through His chosen people. He will do it through the Jewish and non-Jewish New Covenant Remnant that would appear in the future, about which His prophets wrote and promised to Israel so long ago:

“Therefore, you (fallen, human) shepherds (of Israel), hear the Word of the Lord: ‘As I live,’ declares the Lord God, ‘surely because My flock has become a prey, My flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My (natural human, Sin-corrupted, living dead) shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock; therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: ‘Thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I am against the (natural, worldly system and ways of those worldly) shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them cease from feeding sheep (in natural worldly created ways). So the shepherds will not feed themselves (on what I want My sheep to have) anymore, but I will deliver My flock from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them.’”

“For thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd cares for his herd in the day when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will care for My sheep and will deliver them from all the places to which they were scattered on a cloudy and gloomy day. I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and bring them to their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the streams, and in all the inhabited places of the land. I will feed them in a good pasture, and their grazing ground will be on the mountain heights of Israel. There they will lie down on good grazing ground and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest,’ declares the Lord God. ‘I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick; but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with judgment!’” (Ezekiel 34:7-16 Amplification and emphasis added.)

The Lord is using the Semitic Hebrew language and culture to reveal and explain His awesome infinite nature as our Creator. Implied in this expression of God’s Self-Revelation, is a revelation of our personal nature as helpless, bankrupt, Sin-corrupted, mortal creatures. In our natural state of living death we are utterly bankrupt and weak and totally dependent on our Creator… by our very nature! So God uses an analogy that all peoples, from the most ancient and primitive and uneducated, to the most erudite and sophisticated, can comprehend and understand. He uses the relationship that exists between a shepherd and his flock of sheep. And just as sheep cannot save themselves or one another, neither can humans survive or thrive by their own devices. None of us can survive without a skilled faithful Shepherd… so we are all doomed as long as we remain separated from the Living, Life-imparting Word of our Creator. And this is what the New Covenant is going to remedy.

So learn about what God is telling us about ourselves, in relation to our demonic enemies when He speaks of sheep. Sheep are utterly helpless and defenseless by nature. They have nothing in their makeup that could serve as a lethal weapon… no cutting, tearing beaks, no fangs… and no meat-ripping talons or claws. They have no significant muscular girth or ponderous weight with which to trample or crush or attack any enemy. In addition, sheep are not at all wily or cagey. They are not equipped to be deceptive meat-hunting predators. They have no wiles, or sneaky ruses and tricks. They cannot stalk anything or set traps to capture their food. Nor can they disguise themselves to deceive and ensnare and capture anything else. All they care about is grazing, drinking, resting, mating and living in peaceful idyllic contentment. So they are totally predictable; and, compared to other species of mammals, they might be said to be witless and dumb and devoid of any self-protective, self-preserving intelligence. By comparison to their predators, they are always only just ‘dumb helpless sheep!’ So, had it not been for shepherds to tend and care for them over the millennia, they would have become extinct eons ago!

Father uses this analogy to help us see our true situation in relation to the powers of Darkness. Created beings cannot be creators. That is an absurd metaphysical impossibility! Creatures are like sheep in this respect. Just like sheep depend on a shepherd, all creatures, even those predatory demonic creatures that try to defy Him, must depend on their Creator. They are at the mercy of whatever might choose to come against them… just as we are helpless before all of the demonic predators and their minions. So God uses this analogy to express and reveal the total helplessness of all arrogant, rebellious, radically independent fallen angels… and the living dead humans that those fallen angels continually deceive into believing their lies and delusions. They try to convince us that they are like God, and that we too can become that great by our own strength. They dupe us into assuming that we can get to a point where we won’t need God any more. And if they succeed in doing that, they decapitate us from our true Head, the Word of God who gives us the only Life and Sustenance we could ever have:

“Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and (God’s Word proactively) breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (which that helpless creature could have never given to himself); and man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7 Amplification and emphasis added.)

From these stark, humble beginnings, we can see how utterly weak, helpless and dependent a human being is, by essence and nature. We are just as dependent on our Creator during our second, third, fourth and ten billionth moment as we were at that first ‘of dust from the ground’ moment! God’s Word breathed life into a pile of dust in the first instant of humanity’s existence, and He must continue to provide each succeeding breath, and heartbeat, and brain wave that any other man, woman or child will ever enjoy! So, do you see the awesome significance and importance of God’s Living Word, as the written Word of God reveals Him? Can you see the meaning and significance of our Messiah Yeshua and how desperately every human needs Him? Even atheists that deny His existence are defying and ignoring Him while they use the very life, strength and intelligence they can only receive from Him!

When we understand this, we will see that the tremendous original miracle of Creation… is an ongoing Event! We are all, always, at the level of that dust! We must look to our Creator for everything, all the time! That original act of Creation is always going on in all of us! God continually has to maintain us in existence… moment-by-moment, breath-by-breath, heartbeat-by-heartbeat, thought-by-thought, choice-by-choice and, event-by-event… and He never stops! If He should decide to stop, we would instantly blink off and disappear into total oblivion! Think about that! Consider our desperate, everlasting neediness and dependency on our Creator! And consider how close to us He always is! And since that is the case, how should we respond to His nearness?

We were created and intended to enjoy eternal Life with God, but that will never happen until we learn to receive everything, FROM GOD consciously and deliberately! We are perpetually empty and bankrupt in ourselves. We are always needy and dependent. We must always receive everything from a totally separate, outside Source! This is our true essence and nature. This is who and what we really are! And if we realize this and make peace with it and cooperate with God and receive everything from Him accordingly… we are truly human… serving as God’s living image and likeness. He does all the giving; we do all of the receiving… and God is free to work with us and operate on Earth, through us. And, conversely, we serve as His living Temple that contains, embodies and releases His Holy Perfect Presence and the Glory of His All-Sufficient Finished Works into our circumstances and surroundings!

So… in light of this awesome interactive relationship with our Creator, ponder the Marching Orders again… and again… and again. If you do, they’ll sink into you and become part of your self-image, and identity and lifestyle and Heavenly Destiny. The reality of this relationship with God will work its way into the hard wiring of your brain… and become the programming of your soul’s mind, will and heartfelt affections. This is how you can gradually absorb and BECOME the embodiment of those Marching Orders. This is the New Covenant disciple lifestyle! And through it, God will have you ready for the Last Days combat… right on time!

Whenever you’re tempted to break away from this and go off on your own to do ‘your own thing’ apart and separate from Him… it will help if you ponder verses like the following:

“And Abraham replied, ‘Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord, although I am but dust and ashes.’” (Genesis 18:27 Emphasis added.)

Do you remember Balaam in the book of Numbers – that prophet-like seer who rebelled against God’s Living Word and took bribe money from an enemy king who wanted him to curse the people of Israel? Because he was able to look into the spiritual realm, he was able to see Israel’s special place in the plans of God. And this is what he said in response to what he saw:

“‘As I see him (God’s people, Israel,) from the top of the rocks, and I look at him from the hills; behold, a people who dwells apart, and will not be reckoned among the nations.

Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, and let my end be like his!” (Numbers 23:9-11 Amplification and emphasis added.)

“He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with nobles, and inherit a seat of honor; for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them.” (1 Samuel 2:8 Emphasis added.)

When King Baasha of Israel refused to lead his people in the ways of the Lord, God sent a prophet to confront him and notice what he said:

“Now the Word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying, ‘Inasmuch as I exalted you from the dust and made you leader over My people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made My people Israel sin, provoking Me to anger with their sins, behold, I will consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat!’” (1 Kings 16:1-3 Emphasis added.)

“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees You; therefore I retract, and I repent in dust and ashes.” (Job 42:5-6)

God’s Living Word represents us before God, in the awesome Eternal Covenant, because we in ourselves, can never rise above the level of being totally dependent dust! So He covers us and serves as the atoning Lamb of God to make and keep us righteous in the sight of His Father. To do that He had to identify with us completely. He had to be joined to us so that together, the Atoning Representative, and those He represents, could deal effectively with our inherited state of Sin. To free us from the lethal effects of what Sin did to us, God had to make Atonement before His own Perfect Justice which must be satisfied completely. Thus starting with our Covenant Representative, we all had to be crucified and reduced back to that basic, dust level from which all humanity emerges and which it always occupies. So you will recall that as He was breathing His last on the Cross, our Messiah began to recite Psalm 22… even as He was fulfilling it:

“My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and You lay me in the dust of death…” (Psalm 22:15)

His Perfect Humanity had to be reduced back to the zero point from which all humans originate. As it was happening, our Covenant Representative kept His eyes and heart focused on the Spirit of His Heavenly Father. No matter what was being done to His Humanity, He faithfully continued to serve as God’s Perfect Human Image and Likeness, all the way to the very end. And so, He embodied and announced to us humans locked in the dimension of space and time, that God’s Perfect Work of Creation, Redemption and Total Restoration as it exists in Eternity… is Perfect, Finished, and completely Complete. And so we can know that our Messiah has made the Perfect Eternal Fullness of Almighty God to be real in space and time, just as it has always existed in God’s Infinite Nature… in His dimension of Eternity. And now, He offers us the opportunity of being joined to God in all of His Eternal Glory… through our union with His Word made flesh. This is the Glory that our Covenant Passover Lamb has made possible for us to enjoy:

“Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is FINISHED!’ And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” (John 19:30 Emphasis added.)

Thanks to God’s awesome Revelation, we know that everything we will ever need in the present and in the future, will be transmitted to us from Eternity… by our beloved indwelling Lord and Master. The Living Word of God is always with us and in us to cover, to protect, to supply and to empower us to persevere and overcome, until we all reach the Finish Line that will take us, together with our Head, the Word of God, into His Father’s Eternal Embrace!

So beloved, this is part of the reason why I harp on those Marching Orders. I don’t want to be a nag. But I don’t believe the Lord allowed me to overhear what He was saying to His Holy Spirit just so we would have something nice to put on our website, or have lots of concepts with which to fill our notebooks and intellects.

The Marching Orders were not suggestions given to us to consider and vote upon. They are true Marching Orders given by Almighty God to His Holy Spirit… telling Him what He is to do with our poor helpless dust… to get us ready to take the Presence of our awesome God into the Last Days Arena of Testimony.
